Hi Elizabeth; I can really relate to your feelings. I too went through a simular experience. Only mine was age related. I had worked in the office for one day when one of the young girls decided she didn't like me because i ws to old to work with.(I was 58 at the time).so she went to the head doctor and told him. They were going to let me work there till they hired another person. Well, I found out and quit the next day. It took me a long time to get over that. But, u know what? You weren't meant to work there. I now work at a great place where all of us gals get along great :-))) You are better off. Those were little minded people. Good luck on your new search and you will find something a lot better. But u really do need to report that to EEOC. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with that. HHHUUUGGGSSSS

Elizabeth, I'm sorry for the loss of your job and how it transpired. It's incredible the lengths some people go to, to ostracize those who threaten or make them feel uneasy. I'm sure many of us can relate! You know, I once read a good quote in the Chronicle of Higher Education, which may apply to your situation. May I include it here, for your consideration? "Do you look like, sound like, act like, the people already entrenched in the job? The idea of "good fit" has indeed kept out people of other races, sexual orientations, and languages -- and such an exclusive, clubby atmosphere is illegal, immoral, and soul-deadening." Best of luck in finding a new job, one worthy of your talents and personal contributions. In the meantime, give yourself the gift of renewed focus on your health and self esteem. You're worth it, so don't give it away to them! (((hugs)))

Elizabeth ,I read your post I'm very sorry to hear you were fired ,if your employer can't give you a good reason for firing you ,you need to go to the EEOC and file a complaint .They have to give you a legitment reason "We don't like you " is not good enough .I don't know you but,we are all in this wls journey together .keep your chin up you are a wonderful person and you diserve better . ~*~I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.~*~Hugs~*~
