Have done well, but need to drop some more lbs.  So working hard.  Still working full time and glad every day of it.
trying to do new things and explore as when I was overweight I could do nothing and had neither the energy or the breath/heart for it.

Taking sailing lessons this summer.  My dear cousins have given me a small sailboat.  So I will go camping on a sailboat very soon.

Been a hard 18months.  Lost my mother in Oct 07 and one year later lost my dear elder brother in Oct 08-I am starting to hate the month of October.

Lets see what happens over the next 4 months.

I did have a mental breakthru this day.  Shocked me but made sense.

My best to all.
Would I do this surgery again even with the problems I have/developed.

One very different year later

Nov 11, 2006

My one year anniversary has passed.  And my how things have change.  First I want to thank the Support group I attend here in Orlando.  I encourage EVERY weight loss person to attend their local support group.  And support each other.  My esp thanks to our leader, Monica.  A big hug towards her for sure.

Some of my hopes are coming true.  I am being allowed to go back to work.  So doing all the "t's and i's".   I am still caring for a Mom with Alzheimers and that is not easy.  but Glad to do it and so glad that my life has been extened so I CAN keep taking care of her.  I would not be alive if I had not had the surgery.  I am positive about that thought.

To my wonderful and special cardiologist here in Orlando, Dr A Kumar.  How can I thank him.  He suggested the surgery for me and was the ONLY posititve support during my journey.

Thanks to the ObesityHelp forum and all the info they offer ALL of us in our own journeys.  I learned a lot and felt support from so far away.

Again to my surgeon, Dr Raul Rosenthal of Weston FL, Cleveland Clinic.  What can I say.  My experience was wonderful.  My post op a breeze.  to Karen of CC, also a support all post op with my problems and concerns.  you cannot go with a better group.

I had a recent experience, I had to have a "scope" and dilitation.  Something that happens to a lot of up GBP.  Such is life.  One of the nurses said "Oh, we need to get you fixed so you can enjoy Thanksgiving and all that good food!" Without a second thought I said "I dont care about the food, I ate too well for 40 years of my life!"  And I meant every word.  For me the slavery of "Food" is past.  And that is what it was-slavery.  Free at last.
My best to all.
In your own journeys.
