Diane, I think the phrase "and a wake-up" began with prisoners counting down the time until their release date.The wake up was the day of freedom. It is appropo in our cases because WLS day is the day we get released from our "prison" of fat.

Diane, A wake up is just a way of saying the day of surgery. Like I have four days to go, and then the next day I wake up to have surgery. I hope that helps a little, I'm not to good at explanations. Melody DeRose LAP-RNY 09-18-02
