Cliche of Starting Over at New Years

Dec 30, 2017

Well, I know it truly is a cliche to restart goals this time of year, but why not. There are still a ton of cookies and chocolate laying around the house. I would like to tip them into the trash, but my husband wont allow it. Which brings me to a tough question...how do we do this when those around us are not on the same track? My husband has weight to lose as well, but he resists  if I suggest getting rid of unhealthy snacks or not buying them. He has oppositional behaviors, as do I, so it is very hard for us to do things that require us to not be allowed to have something.

This is all psychological, I know, but it is hard to fight hard wired oppositional feelings.

Have any of you been able to self-talk your way out of oppositional thinking?

Thanks,

Mary K.
