Ho Ho Hotties Challenge!

Oct 26, 2009

I am starting a new weightloss challenge that runs 10 weeks, kinda a reverse New Years challenge since that is when it ends. I have several goals that I plan on implementing here to be more successful such as no more skipping breakfast. Also kicking my late night snacking to the curb, lowering my carb intake, and back to basic with portions by measuring again. I'll be more specific later but for now its that in a nutshell. Here is my weekly weight tracking (thanks Lisa O).

Week 1: Well I lost 3 lbs this week...woo hoo!! 3lbs is very huge for me. I started the week by attempting the puch test. Lets say after 10 hours I flopped on my face. Somehow though, as unbelievable as it may seem it served its purpose. My cravings dropped drastically for the rest of the week, I mostly stayed stayed away from the Halloween candy and didn't feel like it was a sacrifice, and ended up with a three lb loss. The pouch test also led me down the very eye opening path of reading labels. Where I used to galnce at calories, fat and protein I found that checking the carbs and sodium are also very crucial. It has also been a huge factor I think in my craving to snack dropping. I probably won't see much of a loss this week because it will be my tom, and also because it would seem very unlikely that after a 3lb loss this week I would keep that up, but I sure as heck am not going to stop trying. Want to get to that goal by Christmas for sure, that would put me at a 66lb total loss which would be amazing!!

Week 2: I only lost 1lb this week but it is afterall my TOM. My average weightloss seems to be around 1-1.5lbs per week so I am not going to feel bad about 1lb when the numbers are still going down. Hopefully next week I will have 2lbs to report (better get on that treadmill).

Week 3: Down 1 more lb. Sure I can hope for a quicker loss, but this week we did have a family weekend in Vegas where we dined at a buffet for every single meal. Though I still couldn't eat much at all, things like sour cream, and cheesecake still found a way into my mouth, leaving me up 2 lbs when I got home. In the end 1 lb down is quite alright by me.

Week 4: So I lost 2lbs this week putting me in the 170's...woo hoo! Lb by lb I am getting there. Pretty soon I will be merely overweight like the majority of the US and I will feel like such a success to even be there.

Week 5: Well with 2 Thanksgivings this week, and multiple munchies it isn't a surprise to me that I gained 2lbs, but it is disappointing no less. My plan of attack this week starts with the exercise challenge I signed up for. Call me insane but I am aiming for 1000 minutes this month. (scary)

Week 6: So far my commitment to excercise has been a total flop. I feel overwhelmed with Christmas, work, and the end of my semester. Plus I have to have final portfolio requirements completed for my university or I will not get my credential renwed to keep subbing. Yea, all excuses for not exercising, but it is going to have to hold off until I am not ready to scream at everyone around me. Hopefully January will llighten up a bit. For this week however I did lost the 2lbs from last week plus two more. I started the plateau busters diet which I think made a big difference.

Week 7: Down 1lb this week. Better than standing still or going up.

Week 8: This was the final week of the challenge and I lost 2lbs. I didn't make my goal of 170, but I am no less happy with my results over the last 8 weeks. Where I usually average a 1-4lb loss in a month, I lost 12 lbs in the last 2 months. Thats huge for me. I am also wearing a size medium top and 12 pants. I can not believe I am so close to being in my 160's. I honestly can not remember how long it has been since I was this small. Close to 10 years. Now I think I need to dive into a new challenge to keep moving down. Here is me this week down 63lbs total.
