Marina Kurian
"She is AMAZING! I've known her since 2001 when she was at Lenox Hill where I had my RNY with a different surgeon. When I came to an info session in 2010, seeking a revision, the first thing she said to me, was "I remember you" and then when I told her how much I gained back she replied "you are still beautiful". Worried about what I was to do, DS, RNY-RNY or a BOB, she guided me thru the process to the BOB. She knew my weaknesses (wine) and my strengths (exercise) and gave me the information and knowledge to make a educated decision. I went with the BOB. When my Mom, who was totally supportive with the RNY in 2002, objected, Dr. K spoke to her on the phone, answering all her questions. The night before my surgery, I spoke with her on the phone and she reassured me of my decision. Today, I am 4 mos out, have restriction back and down over 40lbs, and I am 16lbs to goal. Dr. Kurian has been as advertised as I knew she would be."

I. Michael Leitman
"One of my close friends was thinking of having surgery with Dr. Leitman so I attended his support group @ Lenox Hill Hospital in March of 2002. The group was run that night by his partner, Dr. Roslin. Soon after, I made an appointment with him myself. From the first moment I entered the office, I felt at ease. His assistant, Joan is quite helpful and competent. He was very direct, to the point and informative. I had done A LOT of research prior to coming, so, I knew what to ask and what was important. I was initially seeking a second opinion and made an appointment with Dr. Roslin as well (since he does the procedure lap) and also Dr. Garber in Great Neck. I ended up opting for the open RNY and cancelled the other two appointments. Since I felt at ease with Dr. Leitman and I didn't want to do the surgery lap, I chose Dr. Leitman. Plus, I live in Manhattan and Lenox Hill Hospital is both convenient and has a great reputation."

David Abramson
"I went to Dr Abramson b/c my surgeon, Dr Michael Leitman, referred me to him. My close friend, Michele, used him for a Lower Body Lift and her arms in November and also my friend Allegra and Tessie (from my support group) have used him also. I am planning on having a Lower Body Lift. I am EXCITED and am considering havinc my arms done too. I am scheduled for Friday, March 12th. BCBC Personal Choice Denied me for "COSMETIC"...as I had no skin breakdown or rashes. I am self-paying. I will post more after my next consult and again after the LBL!"

Zone Perfect Bars
"Duane Reade in NYC has these for 1.49 and sometimes .99 or buy 1 get 1...I love the zone bars. On average, they are 210calories, 22g of carbs, 7g of fat and 16g of protein. They are very un-like the typical protein bar, they kill any sweet cravings I have and taste like a candybar to me. I love the Double Choclate, Choc Peanut Butter (fav), Choc Mint, Fudge Graham, Raspberry Choc, Vanilla Creme."

Detour
"This DOES NOT TASTE LIKE A SNICKERS BAR. Maybe on first bite, but, once the after taste hits you, NASTY! It is a bit more tolerable when it is frozen!"

Zero Carb Premixed/Prebottled
"Zero Carb Grape Freeze, OK! Not good, not nasty. Doable. I don't like the shakes and prefer something that is like "crystal light"...While this is nothing something I would drink by choice, it is drinkable and I don't gagg. If it helps with the wieght loss, who cares. Personally its better than EAS, Real Meals or Adkins. Has 160cals, 20oz, 40g of Protein, 2carbs. A little to sweet tasting for me, but, one cannpt have everything!"

Lenox Hill
"My only comments are regarding the nursing staff. They level of care I got had nothing to do with my size. My only comments are about the staff. The day staff is AWFUL! While the night nurses, were amazing. This seems to matter as my husband & sister where there all day, so, they helped me the most. However, thank god for the nurses at night and staff as they were saviors. My only complaint is that the fire alarm went off Sunday night incessantly for an hour. Also, I spent 5 hrs in recovery b/c my room "wasn't ready"....Also, my roomate had alot of problems. They got her up @ 6am for an Upper GI, left here in a chair waiting for 3 hours. Then when they took her up, she laid on a gurney for hours! Oh, VERY TINY ROOMS! Hard to move around w/ 2 patients in a room when we are plus BIG girls."

"Patricia was great, my husband came along also, and she was good about explainning things to him to and including him in the evaulation since he is my best friend and support person."

Donna Rivera
"She was great. I also have spoken to her since the initial consultation about some fears and issues I was having and she listened, offered ideas and was great. She also gave me a name of someone to see in the city if I want to discuss things further. "
