Reaching Goal part 2

May 30, 2011

Last night I was looking at my stats and realized I have not lost any weight since April 6 - almost 2 months!!  Ugh!  Am I done?  Can I lose 10 more pounds to reach my ultimate goal?  My weight is still fluctuating on a daily basis.  Last week Monday it was 135 and yesterday it was up to 138.8 (YIKES)!  I know I have not done anything differently and I know it is water weight but it still freaks me out when I see that on the scale.  It looks like I gained 4 pounds in 5 days.  Now I know this is not physically possible but it still worries me.

I know part of my problem is I've been constipated.  I've been taking colace and benefiber and it is getting better but still having issues.  I also know that I've been carbing a bit too much.  We went to Seattle on Saturday and I had some carmel popcorn.  We also went to Spaghetti Factory for dinner and I had the meatloaf with a couple bites of spaghetti.  Not bad but I really need to get back to a more healthy eating pattern.

I wrote out my goals 2 weeks ago and I haven't really followed them.  I'm going to do better this week to keep within those guidelines.  I'm going to cut out the sweets and junky stuff and work to carb detox so I can get these last few pounds off.

One thing I've noticed is that I have body image dysmorphia.  I know I've lost weight.  I know I look better then I have in years but when I look in the mirror I still see that fat girl.  I just can't get my head to realize that I've lost 70 pounds.  I've gone from a size 18 to a size 6!  Me!  In a size 6!!  But when I look in the mirror all I see is the flabby belly and flabby thighs.

Well, today is a new day and while we are having friends over, I plan on doing much better with my eating.

Have a wonderful Memoria Day!

Reaching Goal

May 16, 2011

I have been really struggling lately trying to reach my ultimate goal of 125.  I am finding myself slipping back into old habits and letting myself snack a bit more while justifying to myself that I deserve this treat.  I do not want to slip back into these old habits, which got me fat.  I even lost sleep last night worrying about this so now it is time to take action.  Here is my outline for losing those last 10 pounds:
    1.  Journal everything that passes my lips
     2.  lower my caloric intake to NO MORE than 1,000 calories
     3.  Lower my carb intake to NO MORE than 50 grams
     4.  Up my protein to a minimum of 80
     5.  Limit myself to 1 snack in the morning and 1 snack in the afternoon
     6.  If I get hungry in the afternoon, then drink a protein shake or have some lean protein
     7.  snacks will be primarily fruits and veggies with hummus
     8.  limit the sweet snacks, like yogurt to no more than 3 times a week
     9.  NO NUTS until I reach goal
     10.  Exercise 5 days a week
   11.  cut out all simple sugars and white breads.  This means no candy, cookies, crackers, etc.  If I am craving something sweet, then I will eat a piece of fruit or have some yogurt.

My goal is to reach 125 by my 1 year anniversary on July 7, 2011
