15 DAYS!?!?!?!?

Jul 27, 2009

Ok, so I called the insurance company after talking to them Friday and they said they should have an answer if my RNY was approved or not Monday, so I call today… I find out that because of what time of plan we have, “self-funded”, that it’s actually Alicia’s employer that makes the call if they want to pay for it or not! Oh and it’s gonna be 15 business days until I find out!!! Add in the stress of my life… I don’t need this right now! Oh well what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!

The waiting game

Jul 24, 2009

Hi all just thought i would give you all an update about what's going on with me.
i visited Dr. C on the 2nd and got his OK for the surgery, so then i had to get some labs done for them and for the insurance company. so as of Monday all the paperwork, labs and everything was in to the insurance company for approval. they paid for the initial visit on the 20th so i am excited to see if they approve the surgery. as for the home front the girls are great both of them growing like weeds and impressing me more every day with what the can do.  Kady loves being a big sister and is oh so eager to help with anything she can do. Natalie Tyler is the happiest baby on the face of the earth, she is such a blessing to have and watching her grow in front of my eyes is something that i missed out on with Kady so i take everything that Natalie does and it makes me so happy to see it.  As for Alicia and i things are going through a rough patch right now. we are trying to work things thru and build a stronger marriage out of the lows that we have recently experienced. your prayers are always greatly appreciated. School is doing great I'm passing everything now after a scare about a month ago it just means i have to work harder and October is so close now i can taste graduation , then surgery, i can't wait!  good luck to all that are reading this!

OK so I'm so mad at the "Psychologist" they have you see... i went to see him in Feb, and still has not sent the report to the surgeon.  so finally after 2 weeks of trying to get him on the phone i finally do and he then proceeds to Tell me that "it's not his fault he didn't know what type of surgery i wanted, and he never got the report from my Dr office"  well how could i have spent an hour in is closet that in an office and done his psychological evaluation if he didn't know what time of surgery i was having?  amateur that's what i say.  oh yea so i called my Dr office, they faxed the stuff in Feb. i feel bad that the fate of my weight loss and surgery lies in the hands of a Psychologist that apparently knows nothing.

Anxious

Apr 29, 2009

OK, so here is the deal... so now that i decided to get the surgery done i want it done yesterday that's just the kind of person I am so I'm thinking I'm gonna try to see if i can get some sort of rush and do things ASAP if I can. I have 10 days off in late June early July and i think if i can push it i would get the band done because that would give me a 4 months head start on the weight loss.  i would like RNY but i am unsure of the recovery time from the band.  i did a little research and it seems that some of the time it's an outpatient procedure and your only out of work for 3 to 5 days, if that's the real case then i am all systems go!, i know the band is completely different from RNY but at this point i don't care i just want to not grunt and groan when i move from my joints hurting i want rid of the chest pain, the high blood pressure, and having to walk sideways thru a turnstile.  well i go to the Dr in a few hours and we'll go from there!

I'm gonna do it!

Apr 24, 2009

ok, so here is the deal with me, i turn 31 next week i have a two beautiful daughters, a 3yr old and a 10 month old. It all started last Spring when my oldest sister had informed Alicia and I that she was having RNY.  This then lit a fire under Alicia's ass and she and I decided we were gonna have the surgury.  My wife had RNY on Feb 16, and today hit the 50lb mark.  Due to my schooling i can't miss any time and have to delay my RNY untill late Oct 09.  I have been back and forth between RNY and GB and i have decided that RNY is what's best for me.  If you read my wife's profile and her blog you will read about my lack of support for her surgury.  i support my wife in this i think i just come off as unsupportive becase of jealousy.  After talking to my wife and making the appropriate appointments i'm gonna get the ball rolling so i to can get healthy again!
