Hey Barbara! Happy 1st year Anniversary of your WLS! Does it feel like a year has passed already? My 4 months have gone by really fast. You were looking great last time I saw you. I hope you are feeling healthy and happy!

Hi Barbara, since I met you in the waiting room at Dr. Veninga's office on my first post-op visit I've been checking your profile for updates. Alas...no updates <sad face>. Please update your profile and pictures so I can see how well you are doing. ~Kyla

Hello All:) I hope that everyone had a Safe and Happy Labor Day weekend:) Just a note to let you know what's up...I went to the Doc today and got my staples removed:) All is well so far:) Post-op I was weighed in ICU at 495lbs, 1 week later, the day I left I weighed 504.5 lbs. Today just 2 weeks post-op I am down to 453lbs:) Was I STUNNED or What!!:) Of course I have not been eating much in the last 2 weeks so I knew that I had lost some, BUT WOW! You KNOW I'm doing the HAPPY Dance:) Now all I have to do is find the right protein drink to get me through til I can get back to regular food:) I have emailed Michelle - Vitalady about her sample pack, so not to worry:) I am doing fine, I've had next to ZERO pain(just a twinge here & there) and potassium levels are back to normal:) Just a bit of advice to those still waiting for surgery: If you take meds for allergies or such ask for them in the hospital. I assumed that since I had given everybody a list of all my current meds that they would be given to me in some form while I was in the Hospital. WRONG, I went without my allergy meds for 5days, it took all of 3days for my sinuses to close down and laryngitis to set in. By the time I finally got my regular meds it was too late and sinus infection/cold was already in full bloom. I kept running a fever, even after leaving the hospital & had to go back to the ER to see my Doc last friday. I'm now on antibiotics and haven't run a fever since saturday, but my voice is still gone:p The Moral is, don't assume they will give you your regular meds during your stay! Ask your Surgeon before hand and be sure:) There was another patient that had surgery the same day w/my Doc, his name is Robin Samms, He's been checking out the website since he got home last week, but he may still be Lurking:) He's a nice guy and could use a little support from you all as well:) More Later when I get a chance to catch up on all I've missed:) Thanks again for all the Good Wishes & Prayers:) Sending Warm Healing Skinny Thoughts to All:) ttfn

Barb, We are glad to see that you are home and that all is well. It was great talking to you last week. Take care and rest. I know you are feeling a little "rocky". Been there-done that! Things will get better now and the losses will start coming. Thin thoughts back at 'ya! Alex and Janne McNeill

Hey Y'all:) I just wanted to let you all know that I just got home from the hospital about 2hrs ago:) Ya think I missed my computer?? Anyway just a quickie right now. I'm Fine:) Surgery went well, no major complications:) Only a bit of fever and low potassium, but dealing with both of those as we speak. Hey, I got well enough that they unlocked the front door & let me Escape:) I'm not in too much pain and actually the thing that hurt the most while I was in the hospital was the automatic BP cuff!! I want to Thank You All, for all the Well Wishes and Prayers I know that they all helped me get this far:) More later after I've been home for a day or 3:) Hope you all have a SAFE & Happy Labor Day Weekend:) Sending Warm Healing Skinny Thoughts to all:) ttfn...Hey the View's not so bad from "This Side":)
