Liquid diet for 2 weeks

Feb 06, 2016

I had my initial consultation with Dr. Chen.  I was surprised I weighed 447.  Thats 13 down from about 2 weeks ago.  All I did was use the MyFitnessPal app. According to their calculations I needed to eat about 2700 calories to acheive a weight loss of 2 pounds/week.  I thought that 2700 was too high, but I decided to do it (even though I wasn't offically on the medically supervised diet).

My doctor wants me to do a 2 week liquid diet which consists mainly of protein shakes.  I thought I would be hungry.  Today is Day 3 and its going alright.  I doubled the protein shake serving this morning to hopefully not be so hungry by lunchtime.  I am looking for good-tasting protein mixes (20 gram protein and less than 5 grams of sugar per serving).  Does anyone have suggestions?

I adopted a 2 month-old puppy.  I named him Jax.  And he keeps me busy all day.  The only time I get to do things is when he is napping (like now).  I grew up with dogs, but he is the first one I'll raise.

So 2 weeks of this liquid diet then to a high protein, low carb diet plan.  My insurance requires 6 months of a medically supervised diet.  And if I gain weight, then I guess I will have start all over.  I'm just afraid that my weight loss will plateau.  I was told that when you plateau then you increase your exercise, but with my chronic back pain that may not be possible.

Thank you to everyone that has welcomed me.  I look forward to learning from those who have already gone through the WLS process as well as those going through it like me.  Have a good day.
