Hi again, it's me. Sorry it has been awhile since I posted. I guess things have been going okay for the most part. I am sure looking forward to the "extra energy" that you all talk about---I haven't found mine yet. I am 5-weeks post-op tomorrow & had my 6-week (yeah I know, weird, huh?) checkup today. Dr says all is well & that I have been experiencing dumping on dairy products (yeah) & that I can try them again (slowly) in a few months & then maybe all will be fine. I am down to 284 today for a loss of 37.4 lbs all together (yeah again) probably due to my lack of being able to eat. Funny how when you find out what is bothering you & you leave it off life is good again. Anyways, I have to relate an issue here & ask if anyone else has had these feelings. This past Sat p.m. our church had it's annual hayride & hotdog roast. My DH & I went & it was the worst time of my life. I was so angry at everyone eating those roasted hotdogs in front of me & then to add insult to injury the marshmellows, graham crackers & choc bars came out for the smore making. I was in no way prepared for the feelings that came out of me relating to food that nite. Then the next day there was a social after church in honor of Pastor Appreciation Day & once again I was surrounded by food I can't eat & people enjoying themselves. I told DH that I thought I would just attending these events as I didn't like the way it makes me feel & I never realized how many activities are centered around food. Am I mourning the loss of my old friend food is that what is going on here or what???? I kind of feel like I am going crazy here. Help!!!! Just had to vent & thanks for all the support & for listening.

hi it's me. sorry it has been so long since I have posted but I am staying w/my Mom & honestly haven't really felt like getting up & sitting at a pc to update. The pain level is getting better (finally) after 1 week. I tip my hat to all of you who have done this & experienced mild or little pain---I did not fall into this category but it is getting better. I have only lost 10#'s during this week but you know what that is okay, any loss is just that, a loss not a gain so I am pleased. I will be going back down to the doctor on Friday to have my staples removed & be updated to pured foods. I will be so glad to have something w/more substance to it. I must say I am enjoying my soups (creamed & strained--of course) & the fugdesicles SF but will be ready for some refried beans---actually craving them with some cheese on top. Can't wait. Even tho my journey started a little bumpy I will be catching up w/everyone else in feeling better in no time. Just a wuz I guess or maybe the fact that I am 43 & it has been 23 years since I had an abdominal surgery of any type plays a part in it too---don't know but do know it will be worth it all & this too shall pass. Thank you to all that wished me well & keep those positive thoughts & prayers coming. (((((HUGS TO ALL)))))

Hi, This is Joyetta's Husband, Ron. I have an update for Joyetta about her surgery today, Sept. 10, '03. She went into surgery @ 8:50am and was out of surgery by 12:00pm. Her surgery was done Laperscopic with no complications at all. She was in recovery for 1 hr and is now in Room 341. The only thing she experienced was alittle nausea due to the Demerol she was given for pain. If anyone would like to call her while she is in the Hospital, she can be reached at 1-870-793-1200 and ask for Rm. 341. Thank you all for your prayers and support, it is very much appretiated. Ron
