Hey Kelli~ I am Michelle, my surgery is just a few days after yours, August 31'st at Hackensack too! I am so looking forward to getting it done, and over with. I am starting to get nervous about how close it's getting, but more excited than nervous. Mine is 19 days away, which makes yours just 16 days away. I may be moved up to August 28 (same day as yours!!) when I get my surgical clearance from my primary care on this Wednesday. I am hoping it's moved up, if so, we might be roomies! Wouldn't that be nice, rooming with someone on here. If my date is changed, I will get back in touch with you. I am 41, we are around the same age, I have 3 kids, 14,15 and 16 years old. The joy of my life. My husband is the best, very supportive, and we also met and married 100 pounds ago for me....... we have a lot in common. I will touch base with you soon! Hi, Kelli. First of all, you made a big decision and it is a good one. I had gastric bypass, Open a little over a year ago and lost 145 pounds and am past goal at 102 pounds and 4 foot 11 inches. I do not know how far you are willing to travel for your surgery, but I read your post and see you are in NJ. I am in NY and my surgeon, Dr. Oscar Lirio has a great mortality rate. He has been doing the surgery for over 24 years and has had ZERO losses due to it. THAT cannot be beat, I dont think. He is great. Very caring, sincere, thorough. I recently lost TOO much weight and he has been very caring and supportive and was working right with me to gain enough back to be healthy. I am now healthy and stable at 102 pounds. Anyway, if you are interested and dont mind a short travel, his number is 518-243-1313 and Paula, who usually answers and schedules all calls, is wonderful. They are located at Ellis Hospital Bariatric Center in Schenectady, NY. Good luck in whatever you decide for your future with the surgery. From, Barb in Mechanicville, NY
