Kelly - I quit on 8/21, which at that time was 3 months prior to surgery. Have changed my surgery schedule now, but I started chowing down on sugar-free popsicles 3 months ago and haven't stopped! It's something in my mouth I can suck on, chew and each one only has 15 calories,so an entire box of 24 is only 360 calories and a box is cheaper than a pack of cigs!! Good luck to you.

Kelly, I understand your delema. One of my older sisters has seen my struggles and has had the same weight issues (if not greater) but when I mentioned that I was looking into WLS she just threw a hissy fit about it being the easy way out, that I might die, that Atkins would work etc. So I've kept my choice to proceed to myself and close friends. I believe now that there is no way to change peoples minds. Just go for what you know is right for you, that is what is most important. When they see you living a happy and healthier life I hope that they will be happy for you. Good luck and be light. Marj
