I sometimes forget to come back and update. I remember when i was still waiting to have my surgeries and i really enjoyed reading people's blogs that were 5+ years out. So here's my 10 year post-op blog. I tend to fluctuate between 125-145. I've been very fortunate with my surgery. I haven't had any real issues (had my gallbladder out 2 years ago but i think now-a-days they just take them out during surgery? ). I haven't regretted my decision for even a second and if given the choice to go back...is so it again in a heartbeat.
Where has the time gone?

Geez, where does the time go? I'm almost 6 years out now...Life has changed so much once again. I thought after I lost weight that life would be perfect. WRONG! I'm now getting divorced and being a single mom to a 3 year old is a lot of work! I think it is very hard to be with someone who doesn't understanf weight loss surgery and I find myself very insecure due to all the loose skin that comes with weight loss. And now that I'm single again dating has been a nightmare. I'm finding myself very closed off and not secure with my body because I don't want to have to explain all the loose skin. Is that weird? Would love to hear from other people and how they deal with it.

Update....

I can't believe how long its been since I've updated. I guess after time you tend to not focus so much on having gastric bypass. I am still one hundred percent happy that I made the decision to have gastric bypass. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself and I don't regret it for a minute. My weight is no 164. I've been lucky to kind of stay at the same weight for the last four years. My son just turned 2 on Sunday and i'm so happy to have him in my life. i know that i wouldn't have had the energy to keep up with him, had I not had the surgery. I still eat whayever i want, just in smaller portions. I still feel the surgery is working for me because I'm very limitied on how much i can eat at one time. Well, i wish everyone well on their journeys.
