First Day of Liquid Diet
Nov 14, 2010
So today is the first day of my 2 week liquid diet. I have to admit that the last week I have ate and ate and ate and ate some more. I had this mind set that I had to get everything in before today so that I could start this liquid diet on a happy positive note. And I must admit that while I probably gained 2 pounds in the last week I work up this morning ready for the challenge. I am ready to try this liquid diet and actually succeed. It is the start of the process, 2 weeks until surgery! The different emotions that I am feeling right now are intense. I am happy, excited, scared, anxious, worried, and the list could go on forever.
I feel that this 2 weeks will somewhat set the tone for the surgery, recovery, and my success after surgery. I have Pre-Op on the 18th this Thursday so I have a list of questions that I can't wait to ask the doctor. Time is moving right along!!!

Met with the NUT today
Nov 03, 2010
So....today I met with the nutritionist and got my marching orders for the 2 week liquid diet. The surgeon told me back in August when I met him that if I gained even 1 pound he would not do the surgery. Well I lost 1 pound so I am good to go. Everything seems to be on track for 11/29/10!!!! I am super excited.
I am however a little worried about Thanksgiving...and my birthday which is the day after Thanksgiving. No turkey, no ham, no pumpkin pie, no birthday cake.
I hope that I have the will power to not eat all those yummy things that we are going to have at our house. I will be sipping my broth, or maybe I can make a pumpkin smoothie! Wonder if turkey can go in the blender? LOL

Its finally November!!!!!!!!!!
Nov 01, 2010
I hate to admit it but I have been wishing the time away. I have had an outpouring of emotions since I received my initial email stating that Medicaid had approved me. Then it took about 2 weeks to get a surgery date...so it has been set for November 29th! I am excited, scared, nervous, worried, anxious, so many emotions in such little time. But FINALLY it is November.....TWENTY SEVEN DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!! Woooo hooooo. I have been overweight my entire life, so to know that it is right around the corner is unbelievable. I have read, re-read, and read again all the emails, the meal plans, the surgery outline everything I can get my hands on that deals with the RNY. I have talked to my family, friends, coworkers, ect. Everything has been planned out and I meet with the NUT on November 3rd. Then back on the 18th for Pre-op. So things are finally moving right along!!!
