Hello again. My Aunt Shelia is doing much better. I talked to her via telephone and she sounds like her old self. Her surgery was uneventful although it did take a little longer than expected. She was in surgery for over 7 hours, but she is now resting comfortably. She was in rehab when I last spoke to her and she had mentioned that she had lost 20 lbs since the day of her surgery. She should be leaving the hospital one day this week. Thank you for all your prayers.

I hope you are feeling better and better as time wears on. Believe me, the discomfort you're feeling now turns into a mere memory as you become healthier. My prayers are with you.

I am Shelia's niece.I have not been able to talk to her yet, but my Mom said that she was still in the recovery room as of about 10am today and that she should now be in her own room. The nurse did say that she is resting comfortably. Thank you all for your prayers and words of encouragement. I want to say how very proud I am of my Aunt Shelia and that I love her very much. I am so happy she has all of you for support and you all are a very special group of people.

Hello Sheila - Congratulations on your surgery! My humble advice? Walk as much as possible after surgery. As your body begins to heal make sure to get in your protein, even if it means plugging your nose and chugging back the protein drinks in baby [pouch] gulps. Vitamins need to be chopped, minced or crushed... whatever it takes to get them in daily, no exceptions, YOU are worth it. Also, let's not forget your new best(est) friend, water. It is SO important to get your minimum 64 oz in daily. One final thing, CELEBRATE all the special moments along the way, big or small. Too many people focus only on numbers, ie. pounds lost. There are so many "moments" to look forward to and embrace on this journey - don't let any of them slip by. Enjoy your new healthier life, you've more then earned it!! NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels!! ....Hugs and smiles : )

Hi Sheila! Sorry I missed your IM - doing laundry. I tried to get you back but I think you had to leave for the hospital. I know that you are scared but you have so many people pulling for you today. I know I am and the prayers just keep on coming. Mom will take good care of you. I'm glad you won't be alone. You need the support of loving people, both those who are physically there and the AMOS siblings who support you through the internet. Stay strong and know that God is watching over you today. Don't be afraid to ask questions from the nursing staff and doctors. That is your right to know what they are doing and what treatment they are giving you. Just take it easy and welcome to the other side. As for your (so called) friend, don't worry about her. She has her own issues and you don't need her negative energy. Just move on and chalk it up to another life experience. You worry about YOU! It's your turn. Let me know of your progress. I'm thinking of you today. God bless, DI
