It has been a while. I need to exercise more this summer. I eat what i consider normal. amounts close to what i ate in high school. I dont miss the huge amounts of food. Took grandson and dil to Florida for a wedding and then we did the amusement parks. I did not gain any weight and we ate out almost 3 times a day for 10 days. Waiting for strawberries to be ready this week. I want to go get a few. I do love to walk so need to get that in at least 4 times a week. I will get some swimming in when i go get my pool. Hope summer gets here soon. I still have 10 pounds to lose before i see surgeon in November so i need to get off my butt and do it.

Wow it has been 13 and a half months since my surgery.
I am doing great. Still losing weight but it has slowed way down. I am lucky if I lose a half a pound a week.
some weeks I lose nothing. But I did not gain over the holiday so that is a good thing.
I need to bump up the exercise a little as it is winter and cold out and i dont get out. I do carry wood now and shovel so that counts for something. i will do my wii in a bit for at least another 30 minutes
I find that now i am thru the honeymoon period that i can eat mostly everything but i eat now in moderation as my stomach does not accomedate large amounts of food. I can go out to eat and order things that either i can bring home or can eat more of like salads and shrimp. good standbys. Trying to be compliant it is not hard but got to learn to sit and eat and not graze. Being alone during the day makes it easy to graze.
Most people think that after rny you cant eat anymore or socialize or have fun. but some of that is just at the beginning when we are learning all the good habits that we have forgotten along the way thru our life.
My gram always said to slow down and chew. No drinking with meal. Eat the meat first. and lay off breads. Dessert was an occasional thing and never rewarded supper with dessert.
Wow how right she was. I do not crave carbs like i use to. I was such a bread person. Maybe not eating them has made me not want them. A loaf of bread goes bad in our house now but now we drink two gallons of milk a week instead of one.
Staying compliant is one thing that i want to do for 2009!!!!
I have met some wonderful people here and hope and continue to meet more.

Six month doctors appointment

I had my six month appointment and I weight 211 at his office.
My labs were great so he said keep doing what i was doing. Only thing different i am doing tho is taking an extra b 12. My mom when she was alive took b 12 shots every winter after she turned 55 so just in case i might be on the lower end i took an extra b 12 on days that i was real tired.
that is 79 pounds since surgery woo hoo.
I had a three week stall but i need to exercise more too.
I keep my calories between 800 to 1000. Some where in there.
Summer is better for me as i usually lose a little weight and get more exercise.
Had a great meeting with the dietician

As of yesterday i am down to to 213 woo hoo 13 more pounds to onederland.. This morning i was down to 212.
I got some fage yogurt yesterday at the natural living center in Bangor. It is a little pricy but i didnt let that stop me. I like plain yogurt so the plain fage is fine. but i did add a splenda and rasberries to it and it was wonderul. I love the ceamy texture. could almost be like ice cream. Bet it would be good frozen too sweetened.
I have had my blood tests before i went to Mexico so that my vitamin d level will be a true level. I have my six month in a couple of weeks. I cant wait.
I have met some wonderful people on this site. Maine board you rock.

three months woo hoo

Had my three month nut class!!!
Was great saw some that were three months out like i was and it was interesting to compare notes. We all seems to have problems with hard protein so i guess that is par for the course.
I am down 53 pounds and feel wonderful!!!
I had steak last nite I ate about 7 bites and that was enuf but this time it stayed down and didnt come up I am so glad.
Well that is all for now.

6 week check up

I had a nut appointment of the 8th and a doctor appointment on the 9, I met with dr clough and not sure who my doctor will be but one of them i am sure. lol
I have lost 35 pounds and gained a pound of muscle. I am oked to step up the exercise so for me hating to exercise to stepping it up will be a challange but i will try.
Did do an extra 10 minutes on the bicycle each day this weekend.

Surgery

Wednesday November 21 was the big day.
I got in and out of surgery on time and back in a room around noon.
Was not in a lot of pain but i was on pain meds thru the iv so that was to be expected i guess.
Dr Lalor told me my liver was big. but he had no trouble getting around it.
He put in two drains which i am not sure was a good idea or not. but not my choice. And i had a cathater in which didnt make me very happy but again not my choice.
Thanksgiving day i told my family to stay home and as i wasnt feeling well i was glad i didnt have to entertain lol. I talked on the phone a bit and that was great.
Saw dr that morning and when i was walking around thursday nite he came back in. He just was checking to see that i was feeling better and that i was up and at em lol
Friday they unhooked my iv and took the catheter out. WOO hoo i was free. Did better walking with a pain meds as it limbered me up. But i only took them every 8 hours or so. Wanted off them bad.
Started itching friday from the pain meds and they gave me benedryl.
I had wonderful nurses. and pretty good roommates.
A little nauseaus at times in the hospital but have not been since i got home.
Got home Saturday woo hoo.
Monday i was real gassy when i drank water so have switched to crystal lite lemonade .
to day is tuesday and have gotten 38 ounces of fluid in so far today.
should have no problems getting my fluid in today.
Hubby bringing home egg drop soup and i cant wait for some good tasting broth. will have a carnation instant breakfast at lunch and snack to make sure i have all my protein in.
Went for a little walk out side today will do that a couple more times.
Bored want to go back to work lol
