<b>I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.**Hugs**</b>

Thanks for the update Matt. When I had my leak test, I had to stand up while they did a x-ray type scan and at the same time drink a liquid (not the greatest tasting). The radiologist watched the liquid as it went from the throat down the esophagus and into the stomach to make sure there were no leaks. It only took a few minutes. Send Michelle our best thoughts!

Hi, I am not sure how every dr. or hospital does it but a leak test is just an upper GI. Just have to swallow a small amount of liquid and an x-ray. Nothing to it. Hope all goes well and Recovery is smooth and uneventful! ~HUGS~ Becky

Hi all- This is Matt again. Michelle had her IV taken out today and the morphine PCA as well. That was making her very tired and aloof. She is on Loritab now for pain and it looks like Friday or Saturday for sure for discharge. She is feeling fine with the exception of a headache from the morphine. Its real hard to see your loved one acting so "out of it". She is on broth, pudding and crystal light. I went to the store and stocked up on baby food today for her return home. Thanx again to all of you. What does the "leak test" consist of? Will she have to have an endoscopy done?

Hello Michelle - Matt posted the GOOD NEWS, you're out of surgery and doing well. <b>Congratulations</b> on your decision to have weight loss surgery!  It's a decision I'll always be thankful for making for myself. You'll find the changes that follow, nothing short of a miracle. My humble advice?  Walk as much as possible after surgery.  As your body begins to heal make sure to get in your protein, even if it means plugging your nose and chugging back the protein drinks in baby [pouch] gulps.  Vitamins need to be chopped, minced or crushed... whatever it takes to get them in daily, no exceptions, YOU are worth it.   Also, let's not forget your new best(est) friend, water.  It is SO important to get your minimum 64 oz in daily. One final thing, remember to <b>CELEBRATE</b> all the special moments along the way, big or small.  Too many people only focus on the <i>number</i>, ie. pounds lost.  There are so many "moments" to look forward to and embrace, don't let any of them slip by.   Enjoy your new healthier life, you've more then earned it!!   <i>"The key to happiness is dreams, the key to success is making those dreams come true"</i>  Hugs and smiles -

Hi Michelle. How nice to receive a card from you when I got out of ICU. Sorry to hear your date was postponed. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Dr. Keating did a great job on me, and the staff at Luke's are all extremely supportive of this surgery. You're in GREAT hands!!!

Congratulations Michelle. I know the feeling of joy you have right now. I went through those same feelings back about Feb 2003. Dr Keating did my surgery on April 14th, and there was really nothing to be concerned about. But, I know you still will be. It's all too common. You'll have days where you feel absolutely wonderful, and like WonderWoman, nothing can stop you. And then there will be days where you wonder what you're getting into. But the day of surgery you'll be mentally ready, and honestly before you know it, you'll be waking up and wondering how it all happened so fast. And then it's all downhill. Yes, there will be some adjustments. And there might be some days where you crave the "good ole days" of being able to eat all that crap we've been eating. But you'll quickly wonder how that thought popped back into your head, and you'll dismiss it. I'm already down 71 pounds since mid-April. Feel free to chat with me anytime. And God bless you and be with you, as you get ready to join the "losing team." Robert
