Mindy, CONGRATS on becoming a loser. I hope to be joining the losing side soon myself. I also had a VBG in 1992 and my staple line has broken down completly. I have been seeing a doctor here for over a year only to find out that his malpractice insurance does not cover him to do WLS. I have been so upset. I already have my approval and everything just waiting for another surgeon office to call me back and tell me what I need to do now. Since I have already done everything they are asking him if I have go through everything again. I dont know why I would since I have already done it and I have an approval. I wanted to wish you the best of luck in your new journey. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a successful and uncomplicated surgery. :-) I can honestly say that I know what you are experiencing. I am here if you need someone to talk to. Just contact me via email at [email protected] Take care of yourself.

Mindy, Congratulations and best wishes for a smooth and speedy recovery! Don't forget to take a pillow and/or a Bari Buddy (available at the OH.com store) with you to the hospital, you won't be sorry that you did! You need the pillow for all kinds of comforts from coughing to side support and frankly sometimes the hospital pillows just aren't really great. Also, you might inquire with the hospital about whether a fan will be available to you, if not and permitted, you might take one with you. The combination of the narcotics and the leg cuffs they use to prevent clots makes many people very very hot! bright blessings to you in this part of the journey and much success too!~Caroline O.--
