Hey Dawn!! Thought I would look for you here as well. Funny how you meet people with similar problems all over the world and funny how you end up meeting one another. Keep up your wonderful progress!!!!

Dawn, it's great to hear you're doing so well! Congrats! I am exactly one week away from my surgery (also in L.A.), so it's really comforting to hear stories like yours. Continued success and much happiness to you in the days/months/years ahead! Sounds like you're off to a fabulous start. :)

The days ahead of you are full of great possibilities--and life's great unknowns. But the good news is that God holds tomorrow in His hand, and in His unending faithfulness gives you not only strength for today, but bright hope for tomorrow. God bless you as you embark on this new path for health and happiness. Our prayers are with you for a successful surgery and a full recovery!

Mon., 4/14/03 - three days post-op ALREADY? I came home a day earlier than expected (yesterday, 4/13), but was doing well enough to be totally off pain meds and leading the parade of patients on our daily rounds around the nurses' station. I'm managing pain with regular adult liquid tylenol (20 cc every 6 hours), and am finding that I really don't even need that anymore. I need to throw out a huge note of thanks to the nursing staff at Cedars, and especially to my partner, Di, for her round-the-clock care while I was in the hospital. Cedars ordered a cot for her so she could stay with me the whole time, and she really held down the fort (even handling a "lost dog" crisis!) while I was recuperating. Love you, sweet thing... ;) Thanks for all the extra special attention. xoxox OK - back to ME!!! :) I had all the normal pre-op anxieties - but kept reminding myself that I wouldn't be human if I felt none of those feelings. My family and friends, as well as my surgery partners (those who had surgery the same day as me - Greg, Jana and Ruby), all helped my mindset tremendously in those first few hours post-op. So, on my first full day home, I'm a little tender, which I guess is to be expected, but so far, haven't found anything that is terribly disagreeable to my new tummy. I've tolerated milk, jello, tomato soup, broth and yogurt with no complications. Just wanted to check in with a big THANKS to everybody who's posted here for all your prayers and good wishes. This is truly a special community, and I told all the folks in my support group to register here so we can keep track of each other. OK - gonna go walk around the block, and then take a nap! Thanks again, everyone! Stay tuned - more will be revealed!

In all things Remember, that the one above loves you, that He holds us all in his loving arms,He knows each of us by name.He said anything you ask for in "my name" will be given to you.So in His name I pray for you, that you be given strength, endurance, love, peace and most of all long life.In Jesus' name. When you wake up and see the faces of your loved ones in the recovery room, know that you have made it.Thank Him,Know that you have been blessed to see and to live out the rest of your days with the ones you love and the ones who love you.....Knowing that He loves you too. Happy soon to be ReBirthday.
