I am Crystal's Mom and I am not sure why she has not posted the outcome. However, she did not do well with either the first surgery and then the 2nd one the Dr bypassed to much instestine so no matter what she does she suffers from extreme malabsorption and has to have IV iron frequently. She lost maybe 20 more pounds and it has been up and down with it. She also suffers dumping syndrome even if she has ate nothing but protien. It doesn't matter that it is a proper food choice, her body will respond frequently with dumping syndrome.
She would never make it as the poster kid for WLS, as it has basically ruined her life and she is on SSD now because of how sick she has become.
So please think long and hard, pray about it and know in your heart or hearts that your desire to stick with the program is there, as nothing is 100%. If you think in a month you can start eating anything again you are mistaken and you should not go forward until you come to terms with it. It is a complete lifestyle change forever, not just short term. If you have problems they can be with you for life just as well. Make sure you know as much as you can, educate yourself. Talk to people on both sides, ones who have not done well and ones who have. Keep an open mind and heart and trust you are doing the right thing and you will stick with it when you do decide to go forward. If God brings you to it He will see you through it. Go to classes and get a good support system and don't be afraid to call them and ask for help. You only have one life to live and you want it to be the best it can be. That is what this surgery is for, not for appearance or looks, it is for your health and well being. Make sure you know all you can before you make a decision. Then stick with it and do well. God Bless.
