Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now almost 2 months – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 82 pounds!!! Good luck!

Good news! Nancy is on her way home from the hospital. She was sitting up reading the newspaper this morning when the doctor came to visit. I'll update more after she arrives home and settles in.

I spoke with Nancy this morning. She is a little sore, but nothing unbearable. She's been walking a lot and says she's had no problems. Tea isn't settling well, but the protein drink stays down nicely and "tastes just like melted ice-cream." She sounds a little tired, but that's to be expected. You know how hospital stays can be; it's difficult to sleep in an unfamiliar room, and once you do get to sleep someone comes in and wakes you up to take your vitals! C'est la vie! :-)

I just spoke with Nancy. She is feeling great and doesn't have any pain. She's been up walking and even sat on the couch in her room. Wow! I'm jealous. She wants to thank everyone for their prayers and concern. Drop her a note if you have the time, and I'll read them to her when I call her.
