Sleep Study

Apr 26, 2014

April 12, 2014 I went for my overnight sleep study in Espanola.  It was not as bad as i thought it was going to be, sure i had a hard time falling asleep but i think that was more a mental issue then a physical issue.  We left Elliot Lake early to go to Espanola.  We figured we could stop in do some shopping and check into the hotel early and go out for something to eat and then relax for a few hours.  On the way to the sleep study (thank god we left early) we get pulled over by a cop who appeared to be following us.  Apparently my boyfriend appeared to not be from the area, we were following our GPS for directions & we missed a turn.  So glad we had left early lol what an ordeal that was.  We get to the hospital and i get checked in, i do a few questionaires and answered some questions.  She starts to hook me up and explaining on what the night will be like. I can read for a bit or i can just lay down and try and fall asleep.  I opted to try and fall asleep on my own at this point a few other I was told there would be 6 other patients, had i known there was going to be that many people i might have chosen a later time to come in.  I found it difficult more then normal to fall asleep because there was a lot of talking in the hallway outside while they got everyone hooked up and into their own rooms.  The technician told me they would wake me up if i had episodes of sleep apnea and would hook me up with a cpap machine.  I woke up in the morning and no one woke me up so i'm assuming i do not have sleep apnea.  The technician at some point came into the room while i was sleep i guess i knocked the box over that had all my wires while moving in my sleep. I wont be surprised if i have a diagnosis of restless legs i move all night long.  The room was extremly dry and warm and i'm pretty sure i was almost stripping in my sleep LOL oops.
