Hi John, I just finished reading your profile and I am so excited for you. You are doing a wonderful job, both physically and spiritually. I truly understand the walking bit. I have just started walking and thought after 5 minutes I would die. But that's 5 minutes more than I have done in years. I am 356, 5'6" and surgery is Oct.30. I can't wait! I am so ready. Your story is inspiring and uplifting. What church do you attend? I am so happy that you have had the Lord to carry you through this journey. It is with His help that I have gotten to this point. What a wonderful God he is. How blessed we are to have Him. Keep up the good work and I'll be looking for updates. Keep me in your prayers. God bless and keep you - Charmaine

I wanted to share a special occasion with a few of my favorite friends .... Tonight I officially walked ONE Mile without stopping for a rest. I did stop two quick times to speak with friends along my walk. The best part of this walk, in my paperwork I received just before my surgery, I was informed that by 6 weeks post op, I could expect to be walking between one and two miles per day. Today is one day before my One Month Surgery Anniversary .... YEAH >>>>> YEAH >>>>> I laughed when I read that statement 6 weeks ago. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever imagined me ... walking one mile ... let alone enjoying going for walks. Tomorrow I am really looking forward to getting on the scales to see the results of this first month after surgery. I will be sending out another update tomorrow. This morning I had fun going through my closet looking for smaller pants. I found 30 pair of my "old" pants ... this will be fun moving down to a smaller waist size. I could hardly wait to get this notice off to you as I am so happy to have accomplished so much so soon. Thank you again for all of your prayers. God Bless You, John

Thanks for note John. I'm so glad to hear from you. I looked at your pictures. You look like you're doing great! Great to see. Being 2 days away from my WLS has made me anxious. I'm so glad you said you didn't have any pain. It's been a concern. So far I have been pleased with the staff at Harper. I'll look forward to a visit from you!

Hello Everyone, I am doing GREAT!!!!! I had my surgery on Monday, July 28 and was released from the hospital this afternoon. I wore marks in the tile floor with all of the laps I took around the nursing station. I want to thank everyone for all of their prayers and words of encouragement. They were a great blessing to me. I did not have any pain at all. And am resting well. I live 500 miles from my surgeon and we will be staying at the hospital guest housing until after my post op check up on August 7. I am so glad that I am now on the losing side. I had clear liquids today and things are going well. Will keep everyone informed on my progress. John :-)

Here is the latest update on John from his brother. John is doing very well. Yesterday they took most of the tubes out of him, and he spent some time walking the floor. At one point he was told he should take it easy on the laps around the floor, or he might feel it later. Today they plan to start him on clear liquids, and if he can keep them down, they will release him. So far, so good. Could we send him some well wishes for a quick recovery. LORD BLESS

~*~I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.
