Hello Megan - Congratulations, your special day is almost here!!!!!! I bet you're experiencing a whirlwind of emotions, hopefully they are ALL laced with excitement, hope, anticipation and a sense of peace. Just remember, immediately after surgery, take it easy, slow, and focus on HEALING! Initially, rest, H20, vitamins and walking are the biggest priorities. People tend to panic at the early stages because they can't get in enough protein or food - that's NORMAL! We have a grace period of sorts the first 90 days, it's like a learning curve to see how "we" adjust to the new stomach and the surgery. Our "obese" bodies have enough storage to feed off of so protein and foods can be weaned in gradually! Just focus on walking and getting in as much water as possible - constantly having a sippy cup in your hands. It'll be tough at times and you'll find that you'd much rather cuddle with your pillow then get out of bed. Don't!! Get up and walk, walk, walk, it'll help with the overall surgery and recovery. As your body begins to heal make sure to get in your protein, even if it means plugging your nose and chugging back the drinks in baby [pouch] gulps. You can DO IT!! :) Much success, health and happiness to you. I wish for YOU all the health, joy, energy and wonderment that I've found with weight loss. It never ceases to amaze me, daily, all the special moments that are now available just by regaining my health. I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes and it truly fits US and our second chance at life..... "To grow, you must be willing to let your present and future be totally unlike your past. Your history is not your destiny." -- by Alan Cohen ....so very true, yes? :)
