1/1/14:  Here it goes. I've always struggled with my weight. In fact, I don't ever remember weighing less than 200lbs. I am 32 years old, 5'10", and my highest weight was 444lbs on 11/2/13. This was the day of my sister's wedding, and the day I decided I needed serious help. I ended high school in the mid 200s, got married at 19, and gained another 100lbs over the next 5 years. I then got a divorce, got remarried, and had a baby 2 and 1/2 years ago, adding another 100lbs. I've done all the weight loss programs out there: WW, LA Weight Loss, Curves, Atkins, you name it. It wasn't until this year that I realized it was much more in my head than anything else. So I began my journey on 11/8/13 with my first surgical consult. I worked my butt off to get approval (I'm a teacher and winter break was my best length of time for recovery), and I was finally sleeved 12/18/13. I missed 5 days of work, and will return 1/6/14. I am two weeks out right now, and I am learning that this is hard, but not impossible. I've slipped up, but gotten right back on track. I am so much more aware of what I am doing, my habits, etc. and that feels great. I can't say I'm not scared of failure. I am, and it terrifies me. But I can't let it hold me down. I'm 50lbs down total as of today. Out of the 400s and NEVER going back.
