ROLL CALL.....

Jul 25, 2018

Hello everyone!! Who's here with me? Am I in this alone? I hope not. Please, let's do a roll call. Then, let's get started....again. Who's in with me?

I'm Dyuanna, 51, 15 years post-op, regained 80 of the 140 pounds I released. Disappointment, but engaged and committed to doing this another way. Who's willing to lock arms with me?

...waiting....

S.O.S - anyone out there?!?!

Apr 05, 2016

Hello!  Is anyone there?  It's been FAR TOO long since I've posted here on OH.  I've been very active on Facebook because initially there was very little communication between myself and members.  Is there any interest in starting up again?  Are you all open to meeting live and in person for support?  Please let me know what you interest is for this group.  This is OUR group.  I look forward to hearing more from you.

Get Your Head Back Into The Game

Dec 15, 2011

YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!
Failure starts in the mind – if your head’s not in the game, your body won’t be either.  Some where along the way you have stepped off track and are now looking for a way back.  You may have been very successful with your initial weight loss, but it has began to creep back up on the scale.  You are DESPARATE for an answer.  STOP!

I have created a group (Back 2 Basics) to help you will learn how to get back on track and receive the support and guidance by someone who has been there and back.  Before my surgery I was 298 pounds.  I lost a total of 140 pounds, but slowly began to regain 45.  I found myself in a panicked state and that only made it worse.  As I began to return to the basics (I'm not talking about the eating plan), but the basics as in honesty, planning and action, I began to release the pounds again.

Remember that your tool still works.  The three biggest issues when it comes to getting fit are a lack of commitment, a lack of planning and a tendency to make excuses.  I will help you remove these limiting beliefs and push toward your desired goal.

Lastly, There is no try. There is only do or not do. Let's just do it! Today! Without real commitment, there can be no real change.

I am STILL here!!

Aug 06, 2010

Okay, it's been quite a while since my last post, but I am still here.  My life is still greatly enhanced after having this surgery and maintaining a healthier lifestyle.  Overall, I have gain about 40 of the 140 pound loss, but I continue to be mindful and careful about over indulging.  I have been a member of JumpStart Fitness Camp for 7 weeks and I have began to redefine my body with intense exercise and a new eating program.

I am so grateful and humbled by this entire journey.  This morning as we were cooling down in the class I became overwhelmed with gratitude and began to cry because it is such a blessing to be able to push my body to the limits and have my body give me its BEST.  I believe we take it for granted until you are in a place where you realize how dependent you are upon your body.

I will give my body what it needs more than I will give myself what I want.  My body is a beautiful and amazing machine and my mind is an amazing tool.  I am taking care of both in order to receive the very best that Life has to offer.

May God bless all of you who share this journey!

Love, Dyuanna

Wow, 2009 has been a real trip for me...

Dec 05, 2009

I am still so grateful for the tool that was given to me on February 3, 2003.  I used it to live my life again.  And, live is just what I've done.  I have experienced so much since having lost weight.  I wouldn't have been able to do all that I have and for the memories and experiences, it has been worth it.  It wasn't easy, but I did it.  Now, almost 7 years later, I have to regain my composure, look within, and reach deep inside to make sure that I don't misuse this tool.  I have gained about 30 pounds since having surgery - all of which has come on in the last 9 months or so.  To go from a size 8 to a size 12 is frightening to me.  Have I lost my mind or something???  I have began to get off my lazy buns and walk on the treadmill and watch my intake of carbs.  I am beginning to right down everything I eat so I can see where I am going wrong and make the necessary corrections.  When I was a size 22, size 12 would have been a dream to me.  However, I don't want to get comfortable at this size and weight.  My frame doesn't want to accommodate it.  I know what I must do.  Now I just have to DO IT!

I'm off... because I am rambling now.....

Six Years and counting.....

Feb 22, 2009

Well, I have celebrated my 6th year Anniversary Post Op and I am still very happy to have made the decision to get my life together.  I am still very much engaged in eating healthy and exercise, although I haven't exercised in a while.  Winter is when I shut down.  In the spring/summer I am much more active and thinner.  I gain 10 pounds each winter and lose it in the warmer months.  I am currently 10/12 and I'm okay with that size.  Ideally, I want to lose 20 pounds and maintain a size 8, but considering where I started (size 24), I'm not going to kill myself to get there.

I hope that I have been able to help people who are considering this surgery.  I have had my ups and downs, but I am so blessed and would do it all over again.

Stay encouraged and keep the faith.
