I have been losing weight and gaining it back for years. Never had much trouble losing but have never been able to maintain it for very long. My kidney transplant surgeon (I have stage 4 kidney disease) thinks it would help me to have vsg surgery first before I have to have a transplant. It may possibly improve my kidney function and even if it doesn't , being at a normal weight will make my transplant last longer. Focusing on the vsg surgery has been a good distraction for me. Other than this kidney thing I'm in pretty good health, which is why I qualified for the transplant list. I'm hoping the timing will work out ,I think I'd be afraid to do the surgeries the other way around . After transplants the immune system has to be suppressed ,probably harder to heal.
