Starting the exercise habit
Oct 16, 2017
Yesterday I made a start on getting into an exercise routine. My problem in restarting before has been I try to go at it like I was still doing two hours, three nights a week in the gym and still down at 83kg. Burn out!
Started early morning walks at a moderate pace for 2 miles. I'll up that to 3 miles in an hour or less next week when my legs are used to it. I use a TomTom Sports watch to track my walking, and it synchs to Myfitnesspal when I finish so my diet and exercise are in one place.
Dusted off my old dumbbells and bench, and will start on 3 nights a week with easy weights at high reps tonight. Found a great app. Found what looks like a great app to start a home dumbbell program, and most importantly record and track progress. It's called JEFIT, and I forked out for the subscription version. NB I wasted $4.99 downloading Dumbbell Workout Routine Pro first. What crappy piece of software.
Hopefully this will keep me from platyeuing, and I can keep the pace of my weight loss to better than 1lb a day.
