I saw that there were a few procedures that dermatologists can use for minor excess skin issues, and I'm wondering if anyone has seen a dermatologist for this? What procedure did you have done? I understand that for major excess skin I'll need to hav

I'm pretty sure that this topic has been covered in the past, but I haven't seen a thread recently. Before WLS, I never really had to feel my feelings. I just ate food instead of actually dealing with things. Now after surgery I'm noticing

So, I have a friend who inspired me to have gastric bypass after she was incredibly successful.  For that I am eternally grateful.  However, whenever she introduces me to her friends she'll tell them my name and then add "swim_bike_smile had surgery ju

If so, when did you notice it start to happen?  I'm 3 months in, and I'm just waiting for it....

In the meantime, I'm taking all of my vitamins, and getting 80-100g of protein in and just crossing my fingers.

I keep reading in forums about hormones released during weight loss.  Does anyone have any research on this? I can't find any information, and I like to read up on things.

On a related note, I've been noticing that my skin looks absolutely ho

I'm looking at this post-op planner feature, and there is no way that I am going to reach the weight it is telling me I should expect to be by month 2.   ** I'm not disappointed, or even taking this as a guideline for my own weight loss.  However, it g

Is anyone else working on increasing their NEAT (activity besides exercise to increase metabolism) ?   I'm learning that I can't just say "well, I worked out today so I'm good" and then just go home and loaf around on the couch.  What other non-exercis

I just got my bill/EOB for my RNY surgery, and the surgery/hospital stay cost my insurance provider $47,000+.  Holy cow!  That was incredibly shocking, considering that I got an estimate for $12,000.  Luckily, I am only on the hook for approx $850.00,

So, today I vomited after eating tuna fish.  I had about 4 "heaves" (idk what else to call it) and the last one was bright red, approx 1 T.  Now, yesterday (24 hours ago) I ate some red sauce.  Would it stick around in my pouch that long or should I be

The entire pre-op process was pretty breezy.  I had 6 months of a medically supervised eating program where I had to log my food every day, then attend a meeting once a month to read a 'module'.  D...

How were you "fortunate" (sarcasm) enough to find out that you did?   Vomiting is probably #2 on my list of things that I hate-- I'm even a 'sympathetic vomiter' (i.e, if someone else vomits or I smell vomit, I also vomit)

While the f

The countdown begins-- my  surgery is Monday morning.  What are some things you did/purchased before surgery to prepare yourself for coming home from the hospital?  Any particular foods or comfort items that you had that were helpful?

So, I really like to do endurance events, and I know that I am going to have to fuel myself differently after surgery.  Now, I just pop a GU or shot block and am on my merry way.

Were any of you prescribed this?  For the RNY folks, did your pouch tolerate the pill?  These pills are huge and I'm worried that I am going to vomit if I take these after surgery.  I'm not saying that I am not going to take them, j

Who are your favorites?  I've found a couple that I really like, but would also like to see who others are watching.  I've been watching YouTube videos almost every night in preparation for my surgery Monday.

Did any of you go a bit crazy before you started your pre-op diet?  I feel like I am having a "last supper" of sorts...  Pre-op liquid phase starts tomorrow.
