Made it!!!
Jul 29, 2015
One thing about me, is that when I want something, really really bad....I usually accomplish it. Here I am....after a slow and agonizing weight regain....had my revision done from a RNY to a full DS on July 20th 2015, by Dr. David Frank Greenbaum, at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly NJ. I am still in NJ as I write this update, since the surgeon requires me to stay for a week in town in case of any complications. At the time of surgery I was about 208 pounds. If anyone is reading this just for a reference, while doing your research, let me tell you something, Lapbands are a scam, and RNY is just a temporary illusion for the majority of patients. And now you may think ( like I did 15 yrs ago) " I may be one of the lucky ones who will not regain" ... wrong!!! this surgery is not designed to last. Not only that, but after you have regained most or all of your weight back, you are left with the crappy side effects of it. In my case was constant dumping syndrome and persistent anemia that kicked me out of work twice for about two to three months each time. DS so far has been the most successful surgery known. I established contact with people who had the DS 9 to 15 years ago, and all of them have been able to keep their weight withing normal parameters. I've heard of people who have not been able to do so, but they are not the majority. Do your research before making any decision.
I wanna shoot the scale...
