Pain where the drainage was

Mar 10, 2017

I am almost 3 weeks out now and have been having pain where the drainage site was.  Not pain on the outside, but pain on the inside.  Has anyone else experienced this problem and is it normal to have the pain.  I've used ice alot, but everytime I lean over I have to hold that area to prevent the pain from occuring worse.

On My Way

Feb 24, 2017

I had my surgery on Monday, the 20th.  I did have a hiatal hernia that my Doctor repaired, but I knew that was a possibility before surgery.  All I wanted to do was sleep in the hospital, probably because of the pain meds I was on.  It really hurt to try to roll on my side as I have metal rods in my back and it's also difficult to sleep on my back.  However, last night was a much better night.  My stomach still hurts, but it was much easier to roll over from side to side.  I have to say it's not easy trying to get 70 grams of protein into me, but the past 3 days I have been able to do so.

I take each day as it comes and know that I heal a little more each day.  So things are progressing and hopefully soon I'll be much healthier and living life to the fullest.

Upcoming Surgery

Feb 18, 2017

Well, here I am getting ready for my surgery on Monday morning.  All of my tests have come back good so the next step is to just have the surgery done.  I am definitely a little anxious about it as I know this is going to change everything about my life.  I do believe it will be tough in the beginning, but I have such a strong motivation that I'm pretty sure that I will come through the surgery very well and continue on with my good health and new body.  I started my bowel prep and clear liquids at noon today and I know I will be fine, especially since I just had my first colonoscopy and endoscopy a week ago and that prep was far worse.

I will post something when I get home from the hospital but am asking everyone for your prayers please.  I've now lost 17 lbs. pre surgery since January 10, 2017.

Talk to everyone soon.

Water intake during liquid diet

Jan 09, 2017

Hi everyone.  I am new to this and have been reading alot of information in the forums and it has helped me alot.  If all my tests come back ok, I will be having my sleeve surgery February 20, 2017.  My question is, do I have to try to drink 64 oz. of water while on my liquid diet or do I only have to drink 32 oz. since I will also be drinking protein shakes.  I have been searching for an answer and haven't found one yet.  Thanks.....
