Update Finally!

Jun 18, 2009

Well, it has been a while for me.  I am dealing with lots of stress with my mom's health and so forth.  I have been trying to maintain and not let the stress eating ( I know not good) get out of hand.  I have dropped 66 lbs and the scale is starting to move a little again. It has been a long plateau!  I hope that we have mom taken care of and she will stay out of the hospital for a while.  Now my brother has to have his gallbladder out next week and I of course am his emergency  contact.  So if I can get him well maybe I can concentrate more on me!!

Trying to swim at least 3 times a week and walk on the off days. Not getting there every day but trying!  Keep us all in your prayers and we will pray for all of you my friends.

It has been a while since I wrote anything at all.  I am now down 58 pounds from my highest weight.  My BMI is down from over 60 to 49 so I am happy about all of that.  It is still something that I have to work at but I feel that I am working with my little tool pretty good.  Of course I have slipped and fell a time or two, but no weight gain. I am thankful for that.  I am down 3-4 sizes in clothes and am about naked!  (not a pretty sight!)  I have bought a few smaller sizes but have to get them cut off and hemed.  My short legs are not a blessing!  I have to cut 6-8 inches off regular and 3-5 off of most petites!

I have a nasty cold right now and am just about to give up and go back to bed.  I hope to shake this thing soon.  I don;t feel like eating anything at all right now.  Of course Mama Gee always said to "Starve a cold and feed a Fever". I just am not sure what to do when you have both!!!! LOL

Well, I still have not seen the scales move.  I have figured out one of the problems, I seem to be retaining water, could not figure out why and then it hit me.  I have been eating mini kosher dill pickles!!!! Bad Bad Girl!!! No more pickles for me!

Second reason is I don't think I am drinking quite enough water either so that does not help.  My new goal is more water!!!!!

And finally I must kick myself in the rear end!!!! Got to use the exercise equipment and I thought that if I had it it might be enough!!! LOL

I went for my 1st fill yesterday.  Found out I already had 3cc's in a 10cc band.  They put another cc in so now I am at 4cc's.  I sure hope that makes a difference as I had quit losing for the last 3 weeks.  I measured a week or so ago and I am now down a total of 19.75 inches.  My waist is down 5 inches.  I am on liquids for the next 24 to 48 hours so we will see how it goes.

I have a nasty cold so don't feel to good, but this too shall pass.

It finally happened!! I had a WOW moment. My clothes are getting too big so last night I was trying to find something to wear to church today. In going through my closet I ran across two brand new outfits that I order for Easter two or three years ago. I couldn't make up my mind which one I wanted so I ordered both! When they arrived they were too little and have hung there ever since. I was doubtful that I could wear them but decided to try them on to see if I was even close. Certainly did not want to skip by them and to my amazement they fit!!!! I could not be happier!! Now I just have to hem the pants and sleeves and I have two great outfits to wear. One is really spring/summer but I am going to wear it at least once!! LOL My DH is so proud of me! I also found a suit that had gotten two tight and it was loose! Down 2 sizes Yipeeeeeeee!!!!!! I feel like singing "I'm so excited, I just can't hide it!!!"

Well, time sure is flying!  I seem to be at a stall!  Weight is boucing about 3 lbs..... up, down, up, down.  Can't seem to break through the 279 mark!  Hmmmm........ Scheduled for a fill (I hope) on October 14th.  Maybe that will make a difference. I sure hope so.  I can eat or drink most anything, just not a lot at one time, but I do feel hungry sooner than before.  I think it is going through to fast so the fill should help!

Just hanging in there  until the fill.

Aug 26, 2008

Well it has been a while since I posted.  I had my staples out on Monday, August 25, and everything is fine.  I was told to go on to the regular food stage at this point.  So far everything I have tried to eat has been tolerated.

I got on the doctor's scale and to my surprise it was about 2 lbs less that my home scale!  What the heck I'll take it!

Dr does not want me to do anything strenous yet, just walking and maybe a little swimming.  I still cannot lift more that 10-15 lbs for two more weeks, but I feel great.  I really want to start an exercise program, but doc say wait 2 more weeks.

Aug 15, 2008

Hello.  Surgery was on Tuesday, August 12, 2008.  I was in the operating room for 50 minutes. Dr. Harris said that everything went perfectly.  I had stayed on my low carb diet for 4 weeks instead of the required 2 weeks and I think that helped a great deal. I was able to sip and walk around so he let me leave the hospital at 3:00 pm providing that I would not travel to Whiteville (55 miles) and would stay overnight in Wilmington which we did.  I was at home in my own bed by 11:00 am on Wednesday.  After a little nap, I walked to my neighbors house and visited with her (she had knee surgery) for about 30 minutes, walked back home and sip, sip, sip!!!

Thursday I was able to start drinking the protein shake.  I made a shake with FF SF Ice Cream and 2% milk (didn't have skim, do now) and my protein powder.  Seperated it into 5 ounce cups (about 1/2 full) put the sticky glad wrap over and put in freezer.  Was able to get all but one of them down today.  I also sipped water between shakes.

Friday, we drove to Shallotte (closest GNC) and picked up some protein drinks and bullets, liquid vitamins, and liquid calcium. I had the left over protein shake for breakfast and started a protein drink (40 grams)  for lunch.  I am still working on it now.  I hope to finish it before I go to bed!  LOL  Not quite getting all the protein in but working on it.

Pain has been minimal all the way through.  I have taken my pain meds at night and I did take a little (1tsp) before we left for Shallotte today.  Of course gas is the worst!  Taking Gas X strips and walking has helped alot.  Still is uncomfortable to cough or laugh to much!  But much better.

All in all it has been a good experience so far.

My scales were broken so I needed to get a new one. I weighed on the doctor's scales on Monday and when I weighed on my new scales today it showed a 7 lb difference.....  I figure the doc's and mine are a few lbs different!  But maybe I have lost a little.

I will use mine to track from now on and willl know closer to what I have lost.  I will only be weighing once a week and I think that will be on Mondays!
