Dr. Mirande is prob the best Dr. I have ever had. He has a great personality and wonderful bedside manner. I had the same experience with his office staff. Everyone I met with was very nice and very helpful. They all made me feel at ease while I was going through the entire process. If I had a question I would just call them up and if his staff could not answer it they would have him call me.
My son was 10 years old at the time of my surgery and he was very scared of me having this surgery. Dr. Mirande got down to his level and explained the procedure in terms that he could understand (drawing Pictures and everything). He made my son feel very comfortable about me having the surgery and that made the entire process much easier. Posted on 01/29/2008 |

He is amazing and very smart. Surgery was a breeze, he is so upbeat I am a few days out of the lap band surgery and I know this guy is awesome at what he does, he doesn't mess around, he is straight forward follow his instructions you will be victorius. Posted on 06/09/2007 |

I first impression of Dr. Mirande was positive-he seemed very "available" to his patients. His staff are extremely kind and helpful. The aftercare is fantastic! I had to page him the second day after surgery and he called me within 5 minutes and calmed my nerves! My experience, thus far, is that his surgical competence and bedside manner are both great! Dr. Mirande is the most down to earth doctor I have ever met. He prepares his patients with so much information so that you know exactly what journey you are prepared to go down. He not only emphasizes the advantages of the surgery, but will spend a few hours informing you of any risks that could be involved in the surgery. I felt very comfortable around him. My first impression was that he was a good doctor and could be trusted to take an active and heartfelt interest in his patients both before and after surgery.
This first impression proved to be correct. Both Dr. Mirande and his staff were and continue to be great.

Young and personable. Sticks to the point and would not allow people to drag him off of the main points of his presentation. There is always someone who wants a general presentation to be turned into a private session, just for them. His personal assistant Sara is the most effecient coordinator the world has given us. I can't say enough about her dedication to her patients. She must coordinate patients from all areas of the north state and try to make there journey as easy as is possible when you are dealing with long distances and seasonal travel problems, this is not an easy job. Since I have to drive almost two hours, over mountain roads to attend meetings and appointments, she has made every effort possible to coordinate appointment so that I can get in more than one session... [Click here for more] in a visit. Just to this point she has saved me over 300 miles of travel. A ansewering machine message from Mary, his nurse, was rather undecipherable and I had to call Sara to get the correct number to contact Mary. She was very succinct and we finished our business in a timely manner. I will see the doctor in a more personal setting in two more days and then I will update these impressions.
My next visit left me hanging. Dr. MIrande is not impressed with the approval I received from my insurance company and wants to look deeper into the reasons given.
I appreciate his throughness but I think they need someone who is more knowledgeable in the area of insurance to do what his overworked office staff cannot do in a timely manner.

I had surgery on July 25, 2005. The biggest decission I ever made, but the day I made it was when I attended a seminar by Dr. Mirande, here in Redding in November of 2004. I felt that he was very imformative and answered every question thrown his was with no effort at all, telling me that he is a smart man. I then attended sever seminars hosted by him, I love to hear him speek. i wasnt anything I shared with any one else but myself. Just listening to him gave me that extra boost i needed to send in my paperwork. There wasnt anything that he didnt tell me about. I knew what to expect and had all the feelings and thoughts he told me about. After my surgery, he still was the most caring person, for all my follow ups, he was just interested in me and my prgress. And has shown me several... [Click here for more] times that he is proud of me. He has done this for so many people, but isnt that type to walk around telling you so. He just helps you and lets you be a person again. Thank you Dr. Mirande.

Dr Mirande, is a wonderful doctor, he cares about his patients as if he were their friend. Dr. Mirande saved my self esteem, my life and my marriage. The office staff was great to work with and was always availble when I needed anything.
