My goddaughter's mother recommeded Dr Christina Li because she had done her gastric bypass surgery in 2006. When I met Dr Li for the first time, she was so down to earth and very knowledge about each surgery. She provided me with a packet of information on each surgery so I can learn more about each and make a decision on which one I wanted to have done even though she recommended one on the first consultation. Even though, I read through these packets, I still took it upon myself to do further research by checking out the Internet, recommended websites, and testimonies from coworkers who had one of the weight surgery. The staff at the Bariatric center are so pleasant and always willing to lend a helping hand. I am glad I picked the bariatric program at Sinai because it is a... [Click here for more]

I had my surgery on May 8, 2209. I can not say enough about my surgeon Dr. Li. She is the best. When I first met her she made me feel comfortable. She answered every question that my family and I asked. My 16 year old daughter told me that Dr. Li was the surgeon for me. I would recommend anyone considering WLS to see Dr. Li. She is knowlegdable, thorough, caring and tough but she has made a world of difference in my life. I don't think I would have moved forward with having the surgery had I not had Dr. Christina Li as my surgeon. She told me all the risks and not at anytime was I worried about anything. I did not have any pain at all. She was a great help to my husband and daughters. I can only say that she is WONDERFUL. Please ask me anything about her. SHE ROCKS    Posted on 05/28/2009

Dr. Li was very informative of the procedure and how my surgery would be different than someone else who had not already had bariatric surgery. She had me do a thorough panel of pre op tests to be prepared for the big day. Everyone in the office is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Li has been great throughout this whole process.    Posted on 04/22/2009

Dr. Li is a very compassionate person. I think she gives great care with a hug! She is very busy and it may take her a minute to get caught up during your appointment, but will still give you the attention you require. Dr. Li has a pleasant demeanor until you do not drink your required fluids. She Office Staff: Tammy is always smiling and treats everyone really well! There is a very structured pre and post op eating plan that must be followed for success. During my pre-op appointment, Dr. Li discussed all of the risks for surgery. I am very satisfied with my care and would recommend Dr. Li to anyone looking for a competent compassionate surgeon.    Posted on 04/11/2009

I felt completely comfortable with Dr. Li from day one. She is a warm and very caring physician who hugs her patients at each appt which certainly makes me feel accepted and cared for. Dr. Li explains everything very completely and draws diagrams to help you understand what will be happening. she also tells you the risks and possible negative outcomes and is very upfront and honest. I asked her the day before my surgery if she ever gets scared thinking about the enormous responsibilty she undertakes with each patient. her reply was " she considers it a great honor to be trusted with our safety and wellbeing" Dr Li is a 10 plus plus in my book Her bed side manner is awesom she came to see me right before surgery, hugged me ans said " I am going to take very good care of you"... I am 2 weeks out of WLS, I chose VSG, and I am extremely happy with my decision. A Bariatric surgeon is really like no other surgeon, and I spent a long time gathering information. In my opinion, besides being a skilled surgeon, your Bariatric Dr. is your partner, your shrink, and your biggest cheerleader. Personally, I found one Dr. that filled these shoes, Dr. Christina Li, at Sinai Hospital. Ten min. into your consult she makes you feel so comfortable, and as you sit there you feel like you are the only patient that she has.She is a no drama partner, you do your part, and she does hers. It really all boils down to trust, and that is so important in the life changing journey that you are about to start. My surgery was a breeze, honestly I wouldn't even believe I had it,but I have... Dr. Li performed my RNY bypass on Tuesday, February 17, 2009. From the very beginning, Dr. Li and her associates make you feel comfortable. You get lots of important information from them. The dietician, Nancy Lum, is incredibly helpful and very responsive. If you follow everything she and Dr. Li tells you, you should be fine. Dr. Li has a good grip on the technology of WLS. She has a great bedside manner and actually cares about her patients, she gives you a hug at the end of your appointment. I'm not a statistic to her, I am a person to her. She has a great sense of humor which put me at ease when I made the decision to have the WLS. I cannot say enough about the way she handled things on the day of surgery. She was reassuring, but she doesn't candy-coat anything.... [Click here for more]

I went to a seminar in Salisbury, MD., where I am from. I listened as the doctor "sold" himself as to his greatness in surgery. Then he hit us with an extra $2,500 for his health club services, due upon signing. When I checked into his background I found mistakes, deaths, bands slipping, etc. That took me running to my computer. After weeks of searching I found Dr. Li. I checked out everything.(She is worth my 3 hour drive one way) At first meeting I was hooked. She knew what she was doing, had the game plan all set out. Any problem was quickly fixed. Her team, Nancy Lum, the nurse that sets up your surgery, to the sweet,(very thin!) nurse that takes your weight, are wonderful. The day of surgery Dr. Li inspired calmness and showed empathy to my nervous hubby. The whole surgical... [Click here for more]

I am a little over a week post op. Dr. Li is someone who makes you feel, from the instant you meet her, that this journey is one you are on with her. She always gives you a big hug and tells you both the good things you are doing and the bad things you are doing. The staff is always friendly and encouraging. Sometimes you have to wait longer than your appointment time, but once you get into the nutriontist or Dr. Li's office you feel like you are the only person on their schedule. They always answer all of your questions and make sure you understand them. You are able to email the nutrionist with questions all the time and she typically answers within 24 hours. All of the nutritional information is a little confusing at first, but they take the time to make sure you understand... [Click here for more]
