My experience pre-surgery and immediately following was amazing. I could not have asked for better. Bariatric Treatment Center underwent a change to Barix and I had 4 different doctors after my surgeon left. I never got the quality post op care I deserved. It has closed completely and it took a lot of work to get my medical records which were incomplete. I hope their inadequacies don't hinder my quest for post op follow up and/or revision. |

Specializing in WLS, the care was phenomenal. The staff was first rate. |

Everything was wonderful until my six week checkup. I arrived at the hospital/doctor's office and what did I find?..... that the rat bastards in the corporate office had laid everyone off except for the hospital administrator, my surgeon, and the chief or nursing. They were busy packing up and closing down. The corporate office of Barix never called me, never wrote me, never warned me and never even bothered to make arrangements for my aftercare and followups.... even though I cash paid for my surgery and first years check-ups, nutrition counseling and follow-up blood work/tests. Ethical.... these guys are not. What's worse... they kept taking patients until the week they closed. I understand if business dictates that you have to close down in a particular area, but be up front and honest with potential patients. They should have given me the opportunity to choose another program. I have not been able to find another program or surgeon to conduct my follow-up because of the liability issue and I understand their concern. Big Baylor-Dallas offered to take me for a $4k liability fee. I asked Barix to pay it and they just said "Sorry Kid". That sums up what I feel about Barix... at least their corporate sewage. |

It was very personable and clean. |

The staff was very friendly, helpful, encouraging and supportive! They have a great after surgery care, a monthly support group. They have a a number that you can reach someone for assistance and questions 24/7. They have a nutritionist who is very carrying and you can contact them anytime. |

| Barix was covered by my insurance, but mostly because WLS is ALL they do. I felt if I were to be safe anywhere it would be with a Surgeon and facility that specializes in the RnY surgery. |

My wife had the RnY at another hospital, and I can tell you I recieved much better, persoanl, focused care at Barix than she recieved. |

The staff at barix in Wylie was awsome ! From the nurse who started my IV on the first stick, thanks Laura, to my Day Shift nurse Judy, to my Night Shift nurses Diana and Elaine ! The care you recieve here is so personal, they are there for your need. As for pain management....THEY ARE THE BEST ! I just can't say enough about the nurses and the level of care you recieve at Barix.
My only complaint, more my wife's than mine, was my wife was not allowed to stay at the hospital with me. (Maybe she was just jealous because the Barix nurses were taking such good care of me ! ) I would reccomend Dr. Hall and Barix in Wylie to anyone ! |

| I discovered that the doctor I had been researching had moved his practice to the Barix Clinic in Wylie. I looked into Barix and decided after researching them that they were the best option for me. I was so right. I am six hours away from the facility but it's worth it. |

Barix is great because they are specially equipped to deal with overweight patients. Their entire facility is suited for the needs of overweight individuals. The staff is also trained to handle the special needs of heavier patients. |

Overall, I thought that Barix was awesome. The entire staff is just so caring and dedicated. And since a lot of them have had the surgery too, they are more understanding and patient. They saw to my every need. I didn't have to worry about a thing. This was my first time being in a hospital or having surgery and they made me feel completely at ease. My mother repeatedly commented on how great the staff was and how wonderfully they took care of the patients. It was a very pleasant experience. Also the facility itself is very nice and clean. The rooms are very large and very confortable. |

This hospital is a great facility. I was a little unsure because I didn't ask for a tour when I went for the consultation although I should have. It is a fantastic place and all of the day nurses went beyond the call of duty. They were so kind and knowledgable and eager to help me with kind words and honest information. I am so thankful that God led me to this hospital because I believe that I had the best experience that a person can have when taking on such an endevor. |

This was a great facility for this specialiazed surgery. They only do bariatric surgery here. |

My hospital stay was good. The people were kind and caring and upbeat. One of the things I thought was funny, was that once you came back to your room (private) from surgery...in a bed, the first time they got you up, when they put you back to bed, it was in a lounge chair. I never got back into the hospital bed again. The chair was a nice touch, in view of the difficulty of getting out of a bed. |

The staff was fantastic. Caring and extremely understanding. Some had gone through proceedure, so they knew what the patients were going through. The hospital was clean and comfortable and spacious. And the follow up post op has far exceeded expectations.

I think that this hospital and the staff and doctors are very kind. They seem to really care about the patient and our needs. |

I felt that the staff was very attentive to my pain. When I had been asleep for a long time and was woke up to walk around and had not had any pain medicine from my IV drip in a while the nurse would give me extra medication to help ease the pain while I was up walking. Also any time that I needed anything the staff was right there to help me and I did not have to wait like you do at most other hospitals. They did not have a lot of other patients to have to attend to like other hospitals do so they are able to help you when you need the help. I would very highly recommend BTC to anyone that is looking to have bariatric surgery done. |

1. The facility is GEARED toward accommodating the needs of obese people. They provide "reachers" to assist with bathing and personal hygiene needs.
2. Very attentive to complaints of discomfort.
3. Many of the staff have had some sort of bariatric surgical procedure also, so they tended to be sympathetic to the situation.
4. Although Wylie is a little out of the way -- the hospital facility was very modern and accommodating.
5. The PCT, I wish I could remember her name, she was THE BEST. I felt like she was MY personal assistant, she was always there when I needed her help. |

Where do I begin....Thank you Dr. Thrift for putting my mind at ease during our "one minute" before surgery. My husband and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To the nurses: Pam, you always had a comforting and soothing voice and I felt as if you were a mom. You always calmed my nerves and soothed my heart. Donna, thank you for always sitting up with me at 4 am and doing the breathing excersises-you never made me feel like I was a bother to you. And lastly Johnetta Boyd....thank you for dealing with all my gross stuff and my good bye hug...you made me feel so welcomed and missed. You guys are the best and deserve raises or promotions or something...more recognition for a job extremely well done. Thank you all once again, and God bless you and your familys always. |

This was my first stay in a hospital. I was extremely spoiled. Bariatric surgery is the only thing they do there. I dread the day I have to go into an average hospital. |

I can't say enough good things about the caring hospital staff and my doctor, Dr. Raymond Capps. They were all so incredibly kind, and compassionate. They truly CARE about their patients. I felt so safe under their care. Not a single bad instance to report. I wish EVERYONE could have their surgery there! Truly!
Dr. Capps is a wonderful doctor! I can't thank him enough for having such concern about my health and personal safety (I had gallbladder problems which caused us to abort the initial attempt to have the surgery - but we rescheduled within 2 weeks - Dr. Capps stayed ontop of everything and even called to check up on me at home). THANK YOU Dr. Capps, Kelly, and the beautiful BTC nurses including Judy, Laura, Donna, Jonetta, Jill, Shirley, Kacey, Pam and anyone else I may have forgotten. You ladies are ANGELS!!!!!! ((((HUGS)))) |

| BTC in Wylie is the best when it comes to Bariatric patient care. Every little detail is addressed from the lobby waiting furniture to the rooms for post operative patients. All rooms are built for 2 patients...but there is only furniture for ONE. You have plenty of room for visitors and visiting hours are fairly liberal. Nursing staff is awesome there, most (my guess would be 60-70% of the nurses that care for you have had some type of WLS and have empathy for what you are dealing with post-op.) They make sure that you follow the rules while you are in the hospital and aren't in any pain. I had one nurse tell me that she was worried that I wasn't utilizing my pump (pain meds) enough and that she didn't want any of my pain to get ahead of me and keep me from my walks and breathing exercises. Over all VALUE - EXCEPTIONAL!!!! I selected this hospital because it is the hospital that all of the surgeons that are part of the BTC program use and it is set up specifically for MO patients. |

BTC in Wylie is part of a Program that is specifically designed to handle WLS (specifically Open RNY). It is a privately run hospital and therefore the level of care and privacy is much higher than your average hospital.
I have had only a few hospital experiences...and this one was the best by far. I felt pampered and special. There are a low number of patients and each nurse only has responsibility for 2-3 patients in a shift. Which means you get a LOT of one on one care without being rushed or hurried. |

I would go back to BTC in Wylie in a heartbeat. I am praying that their plastic surgery program gets going pretty quickly so that I can return there if it becomes necessary for me to have excess skin removed. Wonderful place to recover from major surgery. |

The entire staff is excellent. I didn't feel like just another patient, I felt like they really cared. I made lifelong friends with quite a few of the staff. |

BTC was the most wonderful experience. Most of the nurses have had this surgery and know what your going through. The nurse I had at night allowed my husband to stay every night with me (thank you Donna!). They have everything you need pre-post op right there for you. i mean EVERYTHING. all you need is yourself the morning of surgery. I could not have asked for a better hospital experience. Thank you BTC for my new life!! |

EVERYONE was so nice to me and my visitors. Even the little lady that collected the trash from the rooms was exceptionally polite. My nurses (Judy, Jill & Rosemary) were awesome. I couldn't ask for more caring, attentative nurses during my stay. |
