I have been nothing but extremey impressed with all of the staff throughout my 3 day stay there. I have nothing but the best compliments for the staff and the hosptial as a whole |

I was very pleased from the second I arrived at the hospital, being as nervous as I was and got all turned around, I was walked right to where I was to go by one of the employees. I was taken in promptly at Admitting and explained everything in detail by their office. Then I was brought right donw to Pre-op where Melissa took great care in trying to make me relax unitl Erin the anesthesiologist was able to get to me and Dee the nurse held my hand as I cried and told me everything would be alright. I was in and out of surgery withouth incident and woke up to basically a cheering squad that was telling me how well I did and patting me on the shoulder- that made a big difference and put a smile on my face no matter how drugged up I was! I was brought upstairs where I know I was very well taken care of but don;t remember too much. I know the nurses were right there and talking to me contuously positive. When I really woke up the next day I was met by I parade on wide-eyed residents who were also very positive with there explanations abotu what would be going on the on the near future for me. The nurses that I recall most and hold dear to my hear- Monica and Lindsey who made sure I had evetrything I needed and held my hand when I got upset for no reason. So i basically was crying coming in because I was so nervous and crying as I was leaving becuase my experience was so positive and I wanted to tkae them home with me. I was very pleased about everything that I experienced at the Brigham and Womens' Hospital. I would not hesitate to encourage friends and family or even strangers to go to your hospital with the utmost confidence! |

The unit I was on was very crowded, with computers, furniture/equipment out in the hallway. Made it difficult to walk around and ambulate. Rooms were very small and did not allow for comfort for visitor. |

| Brigham & Womens is a fantastic facility, in everything as far as Imy stay was concerned. |

The staff was at your beacon call always available to help you in any way they could to make your stay easier especially after the gastric RNY surgery for this 61 year old woman. I have nothing but praise for them. |

Well I live in new hampshire so I could not have felt like I was in as good care at any of my local hospitals if you want the best care in new england you come to boston and brigham and woman's is one of the best hospitals nationwide. |

My experience was mostly excellent out of all of the staff I came in contact with from start to finish, 2 nurses really were terrible at there job one was in pre-op she was absolutely terrible no compasion when she gave me a shot she stabbed me like I was livestock, and then unfortunately my day nurse was pretty lazy and just not on top of anything but the bare minimum but the nurses in post op care and then once I was up to my room the 3-11 and 11-7 nurses more then made up for both they where amazing. As where the rest of the staff I came in contact with, as nervious as I was I couldnt have felt safer when you go here you know you are in good hands its worth the risk of a crappy nurse here and there. |

| Great reputation and association with Harvard teaching...Childrens Hospital is affiliated and is an amazing hospital...Hoping for the same with Brigham. |

The hopsital has a special wing for bariatric patients after surgery...the nurses and staff are specialized in bariatric procedures and the special needs of the patients after surgery. They were all wonderful! |

Everyone who works there much be either very well paid or in some way other really enjoying their jobs, because everyone was very, very friendly and helpful. I didn't see any frowning or crabby employees at all! |

I could not have dreamed of a better expirience !! The staff was friendly and kind. All my needs were met promptly. The recovery nurse apologized several times due to the weight to go up to my room. They treated my husband wonderfully. I actually had fun during my stay. |

B&W Hospital has a Bariatric floor very equipped for Obesity pt. Never had to wait for a thing and the staff was top notch |

My surgery went very well. I have a Lap-roux-en-y, I was in the hosp. 2 1/2 days. My care was top notch. All 3 shifts of staff were right on the ball. I was not in pain at all. As most hospitals, it is not a quite place, B&W's is a teaching Hospital. I do not know what hospital that isn't! I would recommend B&W highly to others. |

I've worked at Mass General and Boston Medical and think BWH is a much better place to be a patient- and a nurse as well. |

My pre-admitting appointment and testing was very pleasant and efficient. The pre-op lounge was great...lots of comfy couches and even internet access. The PACU staff were just awesome- couldn't be nicer. When I got to the floor though it was incredibly noisy. I had a roomate who needed a lot of help and wasn't seeming to get it so we were both awake all night. It seemed the floor might have been understaffed. The next day I was given my UGI very quickly and painlessly and then was on my way home! |

My only complaint was that it was VERY noisy. I was woken up from a sound sleep many times due to professionals speaking to my roommate, turning on the room lights (not the individual light by a bed) and the noise in the halls. In my other hospital stays, at night people whisper… not the case here.
Nursing staff was excellent with my care… and that is what is really important!

I think it is a wonderful hospital. It reminds me of t.v. shows. Very appealing and fst paced. |

The only part I didn't care for was the pre-op area was jam packed. We were squeezed in with 48 other people. My sugery was also a couple of hours late but, my surgical team were very kind and made me feel at ease. My roomate was a blessing as well. All of my nurses were wonderful, overall I was pleased with the experiance. |

Great experience. Surgery was delayed, was brought into a large "entertainment" room, equipped with TVs, internet access, books. Given a beeper and was checked on frequently by staff.
All members of health care team introduced themselves and were quite friendly. Pain was kept well under control.

The quality of care in unsurpassed. The technology and innovations assured me that I was in the right place. Its reputation is outstanding. |

My only comment was that my overnight stay was terrible. So noisy and disruptive that I did not sleep at all and had to stay another night in order to be well enough to leave. After comments to the nursing staff the next morning, the conditions were quite opposite the next evening and I had a restfull night and was discharged early the next morning. |

This is not a local hospital for me. I live in Manchester, NH. I did not feel comfortable with the hospitals in NH. I had never been in a Boston hospital but I was pleased with my overall experience here, and if I require further serious medical care, I would not hesitate to travel to Boston to go to this hospital. |

The best thing about B&W was the family lounge. It was beautiful, clean quiet and comfortable, with books, magazines, televisions, games, free coffee and snacks, and even internet access. Ny family waited at the hospital during my surgery, and it was great that they had a nice comfortable place to wait. They were very impressed. |

Its a wonderful hospital. I just feel that they were short staffed on nurses and each nurse had too many patients to give their attention to.
They also stated that they had a designated floor to baritric patients and the whole nine yards but I was on floor w\ all types of post\op patients. I am not complaining though. |

| It is a world renown hospital. No hospital is perfect but The Brigham & Womens Hospital has an excellent reputation. That's why I chose this hospital. |

Like any hospital they have their good points and bad. My surgeon just happened to be affiliated with B&W's. I am not saying that the B&W's hospital is "perfect" but its as close as I have come. I have seen many hospitals in my lifetime but I do love this hospital. |

The only real major complaint I can think of was the roommates that I had. I have a difficult time sleeping in a hospital. Any hospital. But when I first came out of surgery and into my room, the first roommate I had, their visitors were loud and obnoxious. All I wanted to do was try to rest. I had the nurse talk to the family but they (the family) didn't listen. Thankfully that roommate left the following day. My second roommate was afraid of the dark so the room was lit up ALL NIGHT. I also asked the nurse to see if they could do something about the light being on. (That was how I found out she was afraid of the dark) So we compromised and left the bathroom light on (which was on her side of the room thankfully..my curtain blocked most of the light)with the door ajar only a bit. I need dark to sleep especially in the hospital. Other than that, I have no complaints. The complaints I have really doesn't have anything to do with the hospital or its staff. It was with the other patients. I will recommend Brigham & Women's Hospital to anyone. My surgeon and his staff as well as the staff that was on my floor. They were all excellent and made my stay as pleasant as it could be.

It was ok.... but they were rolling out some new computer product and the nurses were not very attentive. |
