I don't know any of the other local hospitals - but it was better than most hospitals that I have been to. It was a lot smaller than I anticipated it being. However, it was newly remodeled and very nice and clean. The staff there were wonderful. It helps to speak a little Spanish. |

| Dr. Alejandro Aguirre performs surgery at Cardiomed. I chose to have surgery at Cardiomed rather than at the University of California-San Francisco because of the number of dangerous and unnecessary tests required at UCSF. It turned out to be an excellent decision. |

I don't know of any in Ensenada, but for this type of surgery, it compares favorably with California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco, although the range of specialties and diagnostic equipment for all types of conditions are undoubtedly superior at a larger facility like CPMC. |

Quiet and clean! The facility appears to have been remodeled recently. I had a big private room with full bath and even remote-controlled heating and air conditioning. The nurses were very skilled and attentive. A wonderful experience! |

The staff at Cardiomed is excellent, giving top-notch care and attention. The facility is spotless and well-equipped. |

Cardiomed is an excellent place to have surgery. The nurses are wonderful. Speaking a little Spanish will help you if you go there, as only one nurse spoke any English. |

Cardiomed is a very small hospital, and is going through updates and remodelling, but it is very well equipped. The staff at Cardiomed is wonderful! All very nice and accomidating people, and they take the best care of you. Do not let the outside of the building frighten you away as Cardiomed is the best hopsital experience I have ever had! |

EVEN THO THERE WAS A LANGUAGE BARRIER THE NURSES DID THIER BEST TO COMUNICATE WITH ME. I NEVER HAD TO ASK FOR MORE PAIN MEDS. IT SEEMED THEY WERE ON TOP OF THAT BEFORE I WOULD NEED TO ASK. THEY WERE ALWAYS SO BRIGHT AND CHEERY. |

The doctors here seem to be more concerned about their patients welfare. Everyone of my doctors, I had 2 and 1 anethesiologist came to visit with me everyday to see how I was doing. |

You can not compare it to an American hospital. If you do, you will be very unhappy with the hospital. It is very small and at the time I was there it was under construction. |

They were giving me medication that was not doing anything for my pain and to top it off they were not ready for the complications of my surgery, They were not nice and did not perform the usual procedure like helping me walk after surgery, and charged me more for an extra day because of my complications that resulted from their negligence. |

Language barriers aside, the care I received was exemplary. I did purchase a Latin America phrasebook that helped immensely with communicating my needs to the nursing staff. They were extremely helpful and attentive. I believe I received better care than I would have in the U.S. |

Better. The nurses only have about 4 patietns each. The area is maller so the nureses get to you quickly. |

They are expanding so there was some noise. I found the hospital very comfortable. Small and friendly. Even the receptionist at the front desk came us to see how I was. I had air conditioning and a TV/VCR. They had cable so there were quite a few channels in English. The shower was great, lots of pressure and lots of hot water. |

I had an opportunity to visit the Catholic hospital in Ensenada and would have chosen Cardiomed over the other, larger hospital. My surgery was in Sept, 2003 |

I found the hospital to be well staffed, extremely clean, and enjoyed the chatter of the staff, it made me feel better hearing happy voices. I felt safe and in good hands |

I loved everyone there at the hospital. Though we had our language barriers, they all were very wonderful in eveything from getting us situated to blood draw, to medicating.Everyone was always happy to help you unlike some of our United States Nurses, we somehow tend to be a fuss for them. But not the Staff of Dr. Aguirres. You can feel the love and care in that hospital.
Basically you will be babied throught your surgery. |

Compared to hospitals in the United States, based upon my experiences, I found the employees at this hospital somewhat noisy and loud. Although, they took very good care of me, I was amazed that employees would talk and laugh out loud in a hospital setting. Especially where patient's are recovering from major surgery. |

Employee's would carring on conversations in the hall ways in the middle of the night. I was located in the 2nd floor. Someone would come in to check on me and leave the light on and leave the door wide open every time. I would have to get out of bed and close the door and shut off the light. |

It is hard to compare as we are talking about Mexico vs. the US. It will be beautiful once the remodel is done. Right now it is noisy and construction continues wherever needed regardless of how many patients there. |

I had a good experience here overall. There were a few glitches, but I was prepared for worse I think. The shower in my room was not installed properly and spurted out every direction but down, and it only ran either hot or cold. Speaking to others it appears this was an isolated problem. The rooms are quite small but nice. They have marble and private bathrooms at least in the upstairs areas. The staff is accomodating but speak very little English. Good idea to take a Sp/Eng dictionary in case you need it. Only complaint is my veins are injured from the IV's placed. I was poked numerous times and each hand now has injured and sore/ropey veins. |

Though my mother and I did not speak Spanish and most of the staff had very limited English, there was really no problem with communciation. I was kept comfortable after surgery and always felt safe and well cared for. Knowing that there was a cardiac component to CardioMed gave me confidence since I am an older patient (55). |

The nursing staff was much more compassionate than any I have ever been to in the U.S. They were very attentive to your needs. |

It was a very positive experience. Dr. Aguirre showed my husband the operating room before my surgery to reduce his feers. Including the day of surgery, I was there for 2 1/2 days and I left there with a hospital full of new friends. My experience with with the blood work and I.V.'s was very positive. Usually I need to be stuck more than once, but not at the Cardiomed!! |

The quality of service is not even close to the care I have received in US hospitals over the past 10 years. I never had to ask for pain meds, much less beg for them. There was a nurse there instantly if I groaned, moaned or acted like I hurt or needed help. |

It is a small clinic environment with the quality of care you would expect from a large general hospital. It is currently undergoing renovations, thus not real quiet. I was housed in the old section, there was no room available upstairs, but it was clean, well managed and I was well cared for. |
