| I didn't choose which hospital to have my surgery. My doctor operates at this one hospital. It turned out wonderful though. Citizens has a whole floor for people that have undergone gastric bypass surgeries along with the occasional new mother and baby when the maternity ward it full. The staff was knowledgable and very helpful. |

| The only hospital in my hometown that performs the surgery (they actually have a special floor for WLS patients-CENTER OF EXCELLENCE award)- best friend used the same hospital - my normal hospital I go to... |

The nurses were awesome! Janie was my "Hitler" nurse and I loved her to death. She made sure I got up and walked and kept me in line. All the nurses were so wonderful and caring. |

I have high praises for the staff and the facilities. I have never been personally escorted through each pre-op procedure. After checking in, they met me at the elevator and led me to the largest and best appointed hospital room I had ever been in. The facilities are completely overweight sensitive. It was the largest bed I had ever seen in a hospital, big roomy gowns, a sleeper sofa thing with linens, a recliner and a rocker. The floors were an attractive wood looking surface. The staff was responsive and had members that had had wls. For family members and patients there was a small kitchen that had coffee, crushed ice, water, popsicles and such. These small ammenities made us more comfortable.
The only drawback was the flat lot parking. However there is a little shuttle that security runs to bring you from the far reaching areas of the lots. |

very nice for bariatric paitients. The rooms had wood floors and were very spacious. I had 4 people visit me with enough seating and room for all of us to walk around. The staff on the floor was strictly for bariatirc paitients and were very highly trained. it was wonderful and they were so nice and funny. |

Compared to the hospital in my county I would say that this one is a better equipped, better qualified with staff. |

They need new blood pressure cuffs! The ones they used on me were very cheaply made (or seemed that way) More than once did a nurse have to redo the reading. They got readings anywhere from 90/48 to 148/85. |

All the staff I encountered were GREAT. It didn't matter what part of the process I was in and all the staff was great. They were so friendly and understanding of my situation and made me feel like a real person, not a number. |

It was really nice...I had a private room and I don't have private insurance. Medicare usually only pays for a double room. |

The nursing staff at Citizens Hospital was great. They put bariatric patients in the 6th floor "penthouse," which was built just a few years ago for maternity patients. Because it was never full, they decided to include bariatric patients up there as well. The rooms are large, private, and include a place for your spouse or helper to spend the night with you. The nurses were kind, knowledgeable, and quick to respond. It was very nice. |

My experince with this hospital is very good. My mother was a nurse here when i was growing up and also died in this hospital. She recieve excellent care. My surgery has not be schedule yet but I am looking forward to my stay. |

The hospital has a floor for Bariatric patients. While thre are a few other patients are mixed in, it is basically a Baratric Surgery Unit. The nurses are well educated in the procedure and some of them have actually had the operation themselves. Imagine goint to the hospital and finding Carpeted hallways, Shiny wooden floors in your room and a huge modern private room. With, I might add, a comfortable place for your spouse or friend to sleep on if they decide to spend the night to help you. |

The room was a beautiful, spacious private room with hard wood floors. The hallways were carpeted for extra quietness. My husband was able to stay in the room the whole time. In fact since we live 2 hours from the hospital they allowed us to check in at midnight the day of the surgery in avoid hotel costs. Then they came to get me and prep me for surgery. I've had other surgeries in different hospitals and this was the BEST hospital experience I've ever had. Everyone was wonderful and very caring. My husband agreed since he was there the whole time. |

I believe this hospital did a very good job of taking care of me. From admission to discharge they were wonderful. Room was very big with wonderful chairs and the bed was not even so bad. |

I have had many surgeries and been in many different hospitals. I have had also had experiences with many hospitalizations with my son. I found everyone at Citizens to be caring and professional from the admitting desk to preop lab to nursing on the 6th floor and most of all surgical personell. I would say that I had a great experience my mother chose to stay with me and they were also very accomadating to her. Whenever I needed anything they were right there. One of my nurses had this surgery and was very helpful in giving me some helpful information about diet and care when I got home. Overall I would say this was the best hosptial experience ever!!!!!!! |

The nursing staff was less than wonderful when I was there. A few of the nurses were SO great and attentive and caring and others were not at all. I had to call 4 times to get pain medication and there were only 3-4 patients on the whole floor! Also, a couple of the nurses kept telling me, 'when you have the bypass...' and I had the band! how hard is it to read the chart!? However, I feel the xray department was excellent and having my Upper GI was the best experience I had during my stay. |

The rooms are fairly new and all private. Each one has a built in couch, closets, etc. with three chairs. Up to date and almost hotel like. The other is more like a normal hospital. |
