Competitors: I think the nurses and other personnel in the clinica were more responsive and nicer than any I have experienced in the USA.
Comments: The clinica is older, but the operating room has modern equipment and highly trained personnel. I was very comfortable in my room and the nurses were great with me and my support person.

Comments: It's a private hospital in Spain. Nursing care is different than in the U.S., but all your needs are met and the staff genuinely care, they make an effort with English.

How Selected: I was a self-pay patient of Dr. Aniceto Baltasar - this is the small private hospital that he uses for his bariatric surgery patients.
Competitors: Medical care in the United States is completely different than medical care in Europe and other countries. Kind of like comparing apples to bananas.
Comments: It looks much like I might have expected a U.S. hospital to look in the 1970s. It is older, but it is very clean. I loved that there was fresh air flowing in through the windows, and I could sit out on my balcony and soak up the lovely Spanish sunshine!

How Selected: This is the clinica that my surgeon practices out of.

Comments: It is an old building with old timey beds and IV equipment. The surgery suite is state of the art as well as the x-ray department. The staff is superior. They are all very sensitive to the needs of the obese patient.

How Selected: came with the doctor
Competitors: the hospital was primitive as compared with a USA hospital, however it had everything the surgeon needed to acomplish the opperation. and the care by the nursing staff was superior to the large modern hospital I have stayed in before.
Comments: Small, more primitive than in the USA but very clean and very family and patient oriented . They provide a day bed for a friend or relative to stay with you while you are there. And in Spain that person who stays with you assists the nurses by notifing them if you have any needs .It is a cultural thing there.so it is best to take someone with you when you go to spain
