It's more professional. Have a staff that absolutely is there only for the patient instead of for the paycheck. I felt as if everyone was so friendly and kind. |

I have never had a hospital stay before this and I can say that I was impressed. I had a private room and the nursing staff was always ready to assist me in walkinf or anything I needed. I have a mother who has had several hospital stays and am truly impressed with staff. |

| I researched for years on bariatric surgery; then I spoke with other people who went to this hospital; and I then chose my surgeon based on my experience after meeting with him. |

I feel that Columbia- St Marys have the best physicans in the city of Milwaukee. |

| This was the hospital that my surgeon's office was in and the Bariatric Center. It is also one of the hospitals that was on my insurance approval list. |

I liked Columbia, but the St Mary's campus on Lake Drive will always be my favorite. |

The staff is wonderful. They don't make you feel less than worthy because you are overweight. They made me feel at ease from the minute I walked in to the time I left. |

Everything was great, except for the temperature in the room. Its was hoT!!! We even turned the thermostat all the way down as far as it would go! I had to get a ice pack just to cool off. THe bed was a bariatric bed, but when up in the up right position you couldn't even stretch your legs they where constantly bent. It was painfull to try to lift myself and push back in order to get my head all the way up to the top of the bed laying in the flat positon. There was a lady that kept hollering all night long for the 1st 2 nights, they couldn't stop her from doing it. But I would take some pain meds and be able to sleep. |

Older hospital, but equipment, etc. is all up to date. I felt very comfortable here and confident in the resources and staff. |

Staff was excellent. However, due to abnormally high blood sugars and blood pressure, they were checking readings every hour - 24 hours a day. I couldn't wait to leave the hospital to get some rest! Still, the nurses, lab techs, and everyone was very nice. |

I had Surgery on March 20th, 2006. The staff was wonderful. They were alway there when I needed them. Always willing to give an answer to any questions that I might have had. Overall I would recommend this hospital and there staff to anyone. |

I little farther away on the east side of town than the other hospitals, 15 minutes by highway. |

Admitting room had double sized chairs, the room had new, wide beds that change into a recliner/chair electronically.The shower was open in design with a wide seat inside with a shower hose. The staff was available with a press of the button, always ready day and night to help me walk or to help with toileting needs. Very pleasently surprised that I could sleep, mostly quiet at night. |

Personally, I think Columbia is one of the very best hospitals in Milwaukee and the surrounding area. |

The Bariatric program has educated the staff re: the needs of bariatric patients and has invested in new equipment to make our stay more comfortable. The bariatric beds are amazing--they morph into a recliner. The only negative I can offer is that perhaps the training program needs to be offered more frequently due to high turnover of staff, but that's common at all hospitals, I think. |
