The staff was great, the nurses are patient with you and understand the amount of pain that you may be in, not once did i feel as though they were trying to kick me out to get my bed. From check in to check out I had a great experience |

I have been to Hershey Med and also had a stay in the Hershey Hospital. By far this is nicer all the way around. Its very clean and smells clean. In the showers at Harrisburg Hospital they had awful mildew and at Hershey I had MOLDY food on my plate!! YUCK!!! |

The nurses on this floor are A+ I had an awful time with my morphine it made me very itchy and then the next medication they gave me made me vomit and they were right on top of it...they gave me a pain patch and some anti nausea meds in my IV and I was up and walking!! They were just wonderful. I would definately go to this hosptial again!! |

i havnt had any major medical treatments at other local hospitals so i have no real way to compare. however my mother had her hysterectomy in lancaster general womens and babies hospital. that one was excellent. however i feel that this hospital was just as good. the only thing was that my moms recovery room was MUCH bigger. |

The hospital is very modern, clean and well equip. During my recovery the RN's, aids and other staff people were VERY VERY friendly and made me feel so comfortable. My pain was handled very well. i actually didnt have alot of pain just gas pressure and nausea. I was constantly checked on my medical professionals and the surgeons.The room was on the small side. I had an excellent expereince at the hospital thanks to the wonderful staff |

My impression was a favorable one of the hospital. The staff was great from pre-admissions right until the time of discharge. The special needs of bariatric patients were addressed and I was very satisfied with my surgery experience and care. |

Right up there at the top. I want to volunteer there when I'm on a regular diet. |

Super from the admissions clerk to the discharge moment. They have a board with your progress on it, and your family gets a code. They can find out where you are at any time during the surgery process from anywhere in the hospital. It made easy for them to go and have a bite, since my surgery prep time was 5:45 a.m.! |

Everytime I went to Comm. Gen. Osteopathic Hosp. for tests and then the surgery itself I had a wonderful experience. The people that work there are so nice, and this is a clean hospital. They treated me like a person and not a number. I'd go back to it anyday. |

I loved my stay at Osteopathic in the bariatric wing. I had a private room which most of the rooms on the bariatric wing are. The nurses and aides were wonderful, friendly, and helpful in any that they could accomodate me. I would definately go back there if I would have a choice to make, but I do live an hour and fifteen minutes away from Osteopathic. |

I am not a good patient..but with that in mind...I feel most of the staff is very good at their job..but the became very task oriented vs friendly with a mission. I even had one ask me why I had WLS insteead of just knocking off a few pounds!?! (good intentions-bad question) |

The hospital was ok. I was in twice due to complications. The second stay was less than impressive. I had a roommate that had dozens of visitors everday. My diet was complex the second time and the hospital did not recognize my needs. |

The staff was very nice. They worked as much as they could to give individual attention. My mom bathed me because the nurses and aides were just too busy. I have had better stays elsewhere. |

As far as care is concerned I was very impressed. I have always used the Hershey Med Center. For its size, the staff is excellent! |

It would benefit to have gastic bypass patients only room with other gastric bypass patient and not orthopedic and general patients. And private rooms would be ideal. Not nice to smell your room mates food while your post op. |

Nothing to compare locally. |

Staff in Bariatric Wing was exceptional, only had 1 nurse who was consistantly "too busy" to handle things. The aides were all SUPERIOR.
Staff in Regular Wing were very nice, but not experienced with Bariatric care and obviously busier with more patients to deal with. Still, very helpful and considerate. |

The staff at General Community were WONDERFUL. They were all attentive and helpful. I can't say enough good things about them. I'd recommend the surgeons and hospital to anyone. |

Very comfortable, great support staff, great working environment for my surgeon and his associates. The parking is a bit poor, but that was the least of my worries. |

I would say the level of care was better than other local hospitals with the exception of Holy Spirit in Camp Hill which would have been my preferred hospital. I would say the level of care at both hospitals would be excellent. |

The nursing staff was absolutely wonderful to me. I had very few problems and whatever small issues I had were addressed immediately. My surgery was delayed for 4 hours and the staff kept me aprised of the situation. My surgeon had an emergency and the delay was understandable. I was seen frequently by one of several doctors, including both surgeons from the medical practice that handled my surgery. Dr. Currie and Dr. DiMarco were oustanding and made me extremely comfortable throughout the process. The only negative comment I have to make is that the patient that was in the room next to me (a dental surgeon) was ridiculously demanding and loud and gave absolutely no thought to other patients on the floor. This of course was not the fault of the hospital and they were very accomodating to him and he was rude and obnoxious in return. I felt the fee of 50 dollars a night extra for a private room was extremely reasonable and well worth it.
Now if other floors would stop stealing the large wheel chairs from the bariatric floor everything would be wonderful :) |

The Bariatric wing is incredible and is staffed with knowledgeable and compassionate staff. my room was right of the nurses station and it got loud during the night. I had to ring the bell for someone to shut my door and they would forget to shut it after they'd come in to check on me. Nothing major,just a little inconsiderate at night. |

There is no comparison. Besause of other health problems, my husband and I spent a lot of time in the CHambersburg Hospital. The Commonity General Osteopathic Hospital was by far the best. I would give it 5 stars. There is not enough good things to say about it. |
