How Selected: This is one of the local hospitals but the one where my surgeon prefers to do his surgeries.
Competitors: Bth branches of this hopital system are equally good, Mease/Morton Countryside and Mortan Plant Clearwater.
Comments: Things could not have been better. Everyone I came into contact with was warm, comforting and encouraging. They seemed to be genuinely excited for me to have the surgery and told me to come back with pictures so they could see the results. I was trying to help them move from a table to the gurney because I was conscience about my weight (go figure!) but they told me to stop...they were trained and used to it and for me not to worry.

How Selected: Hospital was the one, my surgeon was affliated it with.
Competitors: Haven't been to others so don't know.
Comments: I thought the pre op area, surgical area, recovery area and ICU were fabulous. The medical floor had good nursing but was very loud at night so it made sleeping a bit difficult.

Comments: I was treated excellent in ICU, but when I was transferred to the floor I had to beg for tap water and food I could tolerate. Felt most of the daytime staff was overworked and not very caring. Thank God for the evening crew, they took good care of me.

Comments: I was Very happy with my stay at this facility. The actual surgery stay was a pleasant and uneventful stay. Everyone was just as nice and personal as they could be. I have visited for some follow up procedures and people remembered me. They are all very personable.

How Selected: My surgeon uses this hospital.
Competitors: I know it is a heck of a lot better than the one near my house.. I have always been fond of the Morton Plant/Mease healthcare systems.
Comments: I know others from my group have had bad experiences with the staff and their knowledge of this surgery. I found the staff to be very, very, helpfull, um, sometimes to helpful. I do think that there may have been some complaints as I received the royal treatment was even visited by the Charge Nurse Mgr, to see if my needs were be assisted properly and also a letter from the CEO of the hospital advising to send any complaints I may have directly to him. So that may explain why I received such excellant nursing quality!

How Selected: It was the hospital that Dr. Case did his surgery. The other hospital had weight restrictions on some of their tables so could not accomodate me.
Competitors: EXCELLENT or better
Comments: The staff were excellent. Provided good nursing care. Could have used a little more information on the procedure but I was only the second patient of this doctor at this hospital. I had only a couple of small incidents that were corrected when I loudly complained. I was really surprised at the nursing care that it was so good.

How Selected: Dr. Case has privileges at several hospitals, two of which had bariatric surgery programs. I was fortunate that my insurance covered Mease Countryside
Competitors: The care I received was excellent and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the hospital. Any of the hospitals in the Morton-Plant/Mease system are wonderful.
Comments: The staff at Countryside were very caring and attentive. The hospital was extremely clean and well run. I would recommend this hospital to anyone who needed surgery. They were great.
