How Selected: It is the hospital that Dr.Koren works out of besides it is close to home for me.
Competitors: It is an OK hospital.This is the first hospital other that the one I usually deal with and I had no problems with it.
Comments: I was told by alot of different people that this hospital is bad and don't go to it.My experience with this hospital was very well appreciated.Thank You Easton Hospital and everyone whowas there for me....

How Selected: This is the hospital that my surgeon uses for his procedures.
Competitors: My personal experience with other hospitals is limited but the few instances where I or family needed to go to hospital this hospital was excellent.
Comments: A great place for my surgery, the item that made this fantastic was the surgeon.

How Selected: Dr Koren operates there
Competitors: The best out of all the other local hospitals
Comments: This hospital is older and smaller but packs quite a punch....rooms are fine staff is phenominal....quality medical care is hard to find these days.....I got the best care at this hospital than any other in this area....I have had surgeries at St Lukes where they left me for dead...and at Lehigh Valley which was good but not as good as Easton

How Selected: DR. KOREN operates there
Competitors: i think that this would be the best place in the Lehigh valley to have bariatric surgery done because DR. KOREN is your surgeon and is EXCELLENT!
Comments: LYNNETTE is THE BEST!!!!! She was there for my every need, the same with KRISTY! unfortunately the night Lynette was not there i really cannot say anything exceptional about the staff that night...i wasnt really checked on or assessed.

How Selected: This is the only hospital my surgeon went to.
Competitors: I much prefer Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Comments: The nursing staff on the weekend was not very knowledgeable on the gastric by pass surgery.

Competitors: don't know have not stayed in a hospital since i was 5 and that was at warren hospital in phillipsburg, nj
Comments: i must say everyone was very nice to me and exspecially the overnight nurese lynette...she was the best!!!!

How Selected: my doctor did the surgery there
Competitors: ITS BETTER THEN POCONO MEDICAL CENTER!!!!!
Comments: The best nurse was an overnight nurse named sharon. she was the best. All the other nurses, i had to remind them of my pain medication. and they hardly came in my room. One of the doctors, (not koren) came in and turned on the light (its 5 am) and yelled very loudly, "are you sleeping? i have to ask you some questions!" oh god i wanted to smack him.

How Selected: My surgeon operates there.
Competitors: In comparison to Warren Hospital, I found Easton to be more better staffed and more organized.
Comments: The staff are wonderful at the hospital, very helpful and sensitive to patient needs. I was disappointed in the fact that my room was across the hall from the ice machine, so I had to have my door closed so that I could sleep, otherwise all I heard was the ice dropping in the machine. That's my only complaint with the hospital!

How Selected: Because it was closer for my wife to drive to.
Competitors: I just moved out here from NYC, but I could see a big difference from the hospitals in NYC to the ones here. Hospitals here have caring staff.
Comments: Easton Hospital was great. My nurse, Shanon Price was one of the best nurses. God Bless Her....

How Selected: close to home and easy for my family to get to even my grandson (19 mth old) was able to visit

How Selected: Unfortunately this ist he hospital that my surgeon works out of. Luckily my surgeon is pure magic and his assistant cut from the same mold.
Competitors: I have not used other local hospitals.
Comments: I am not fond of Easton Hospital. In fact I down right abhor it. My doctor and his assitant is what made the experience pleasant. They are in the process of remodeling both their structure and their services. I hope they get it right.

How Selected: Recommened by Dr Koren and That Mandy Nyce was going to be there when I had my surgery.
Competitors: I had not been a patient at any other Lehigh Valley Hospitals.

How Selected: Easton Hospital is where Dr. Koren, my surgeon works from.
Competitors: I not been hospitalized as an inpatient in any other of the Lehigh Valley Hospitals. Can't make the comparison. I would have loved to have had art work in my room, but that's just me! The Lehigh Valley Hospital network may look like the 'best', but Easton Hospital was perfect for me and Dr. Koren was the best surgeon for me.
Comments: The Bariatric surgery staff has so much respect for Dr. Koren, that they are all so willing to take extra good care of his patients. Too, he treats them with the utmost respect, which is really great to see. Mandy Nyce is the Bariatric Surgery Coordinator, and knowing that she would have an integral role in my pre and post-op care was a determining factor in my selecting Dr. Koren. She should be given a raise! One special nurse -- Brian, who worked the 7:30PM to 7:30AM shift. He was absolutely wonderful to me. Responsive, professional, fun, caring and brought the whole staff in to my room at 6:15AM on 12/15, to sing Happy Birthday to me. It was my birthday and he wanted to make it even more special. He is a gem and I hope that Easton Hospital realizes that.

How Selected: My surgeon worked out of this hospital.
Comments: The hospital is under staffed. It was hard a times to get someone to respond to my calls. They had one night nurse "Brian" that came to my aid ASAP every time my call light went off. My room was right across from the utility room and I had to ask that my door stay closed due to the door slamming shut all the time. Dr. Koren and Mandy where wonderful.

Comments: I believe the hospital was overall average..getting someone to help getting out of bed was a hassle. Trying to get pain medicine was an even bigger problem. However, Dr. Koren and Mandy were very good about helping when they were around.

How Selected: It was where my surgeon does the operation.
Competitors: I feel the hospital was fine overall, but greatly understaffed. My bathroom was cleaned only one time in the entire 4 days there.
Comments: My room unfortunetly was supposed to be private and was NOT!!! And right next to the geriatric patients to boot. There were two huge doors right outside my room where all the staff constantly went in and out without regard to us patients as the slammed the door shut with every single opening and closing. Very Very noisy. No regard for the just out of surgery patient whatsoever. Screaming "dimentia" patients literally for hours on end and also naked "dimentia" patients roaming the halls also. This was a fact and not something I dreampt up. No one ever came to offer me assistance in any way shape or form except for Mandy and Dr. Koren themselves. If I needed ANYTHING I had to ask and then it was like I was being a bother to most of the nursing staff. A handfull were friendly and accomodating, but other then that I would say I would rate the overall help as POOR!!!

How Selected: It is where my Doctor works from.
Comments: This is my 2nd time staying in this hospital.. First time was when I gave birth back in 99.. Some of the OB nurses are nice but the one night time nurse was a real witch since I was obese.. The 2nd time I was at this hospital for my WLS and the nurses and staff were all very nice.. I just feel that they need to get some bigger stronger nurses to be working with obese people.. If it wasnt for my hubby staying with me day and night I dont think they wouldve been able to get my 386 lb body out of bed.. Brian the night shift RN was great, funny, caring and answered calls fast!!

Competitors: The staff of this hospital seemed to communicate better with it's patients. They all took a lot of time with me as a patient.

How Selected: Excellent! From the Vallet parking to the cleaning personal. The nurses are so friendly adn more then willing to go the extra mile for you.
Comments: Easton Hospital, the staff---just everyone that I have come into contact with. From Dr. Koren and Mandy who I already knew was a blessing to the vallet parking attendant, the cleaning personel, the nurses on the bariatric floor. I can't even begin to give them enough kudos for all the attention and concerns that they have. I was treated with TOP NOTCH patient care and that means a world of difference in starting the healing process. Thank you to the wonderful group that took care of me, and to all of those that I came in contact with!

How Selected: This hospital was where Dr. Koren was affliated, He amkes great choices. The hospital was excellent, I never knew I was overweight, everything was just there as like any other patient, no announcing where is the large cuff, chair etc. Supplies were at hand and ready for each patient. 4 Stars to Easton Hospital.
Competitors: I have been in 1 other hos[pital up here, although they are wonderful and kind do not have as much large equipment.
Comments: This is an excellent hospital with a great surgeon and staff. This is the place to go for bariatric surgery. All wonderful people.
