How Selected: I am retired military. I used Tri-Care Prime. This surgeon felt the Vertical Sleeve option was best for me. He was one of few surgeons that perform it in our area.
Competitors: It was OK. I am very happy with my surgeon that performed the surgery, but the trays I was supposed to get each of the three days I was there never came or were not correct. That was a very unnerving terrible experience. My surgeon was not happy about this. I also had a problem with the night shift females in the ICU, they were very lacking in their care. I did not feel comfortable at all. The day shift in ICU was excellent. I also did not feel very well treated when on the 4th floor by all personell there as well. It was an odd experience but thank God I had a great surgeon. There were a few nurses on staff that were great and listened, one in particular on my last day before I left. Lt. Souza. She is awesome.
Comments: I was quite dissapointed with the lack of knowledge on the dietary portion of the Vertical Sleeve Surgery. I am still trying to get with the dietician to sit down and personalize my dietary needs.

How Selected: This is the AFB hospital where my surgeon is at
Competitors: I think that there are just as good if not better than other hospitals in the area
Comments: I was extremely happy with the care that I received at Eglin hospital. I had my surgery on Nov and after the surgery was put in ICU (as every other pt is)but, when it was time for me to go to the other unit, there were no beds available, so my entire stay at the hospital was in ICU...The privacy sucked, but the care was awesome...
