How Selected: Since I am a military dependent I was referred to this hospital my TriCare.
Comments: I loved this place, the general sergury clinic is a pain when it comes to appointments ( you wait FOREVER) but my hospital stay during the surgery was great. The nurses were very caring and wonderful and the chaplain calmed my fears before surgery it was wonderful. The only problem I had was my last night at the hospital (when I was moved to the 6th floor) I was having a lot of issues and I felt that the head nurse didn't really care. I was glad when someone else came in and took care of me. But all in all my experience here was great!

How Selected: My husband retired from Army here and this is the military hospital in this area. But, I've had 4 surgeries here and I've had outstanding care here.
Comments: The privacy is the only complaint I have. But Hey, $60.06 for a Gastric Bypass? The staff is great. I'm Very Thankful to them all, Especially Dr. Chasen.

How Selected: I had no choice my health coverage choose the hospital
Competitors: Ithink less of this hospital then some of the local hospital. No because of the sergon he was amazing... it was the nursing staff in ICU ( not on the main floor) and the setting.
Comments: I had an amazing surgical team. I had one nurse... mis Regina in ICU that made my stay horriable. I was her only pacient and it too 30 - 40 min to be hoock back to my pain meds everytime i had to go to the bathroom. She actually made my cry. I was relieve to get to the 9th floor!!

How Selected: My husband is Active Army so I chose Eisenhower because Winn in Hinesville/Ft. Stewart no longer performed WLS
Competitors: Ave to above Average
Comments: My hospital stay wasn't a bad one. SICU nurses were great and always on top of their game, after moving to the 9th floor of course I didn't get the same attention which I knew would happen of course. But all in all it was a great hospital I have nothing bad to say at all about them.

How Selected: We are Retired Army family.
Competitors: I didn't compare.
Comments: OK ,the reasoning behind my ratings of this hospital stay is I was not on the 9th floor where the gastric bypass patients are. I had to be put on 11th floor Cardiac ward. These nurses no nothing about the surgery I had or how to help me. I was along, No bath , I even asked for a towel to use myself. Sheets weren't changed. Mrs. Tilly was a very good nurse . I saw about 8 hours and Rodregus was a good nurse. But for anybody else on that floor It was horrible stay. ICU , THAT'S THE GREATEST!

How Selected: My husband is in the military so I did not have much choice. He is stationed at Fort Gordon where this hospital is located. The Dr that did the surgery is also stationed here.
Competitors: This hospital is equal or better then my last hospital stay at a normal civilian hospital.
Comments: The nurses where great for the most part. There was once that a nurse made an inapropriate "fat comment". Other then her my nurses were awsome.

Comments: Clean, staff for the most part were excellent.

How Selected: As a military dependent, I had no choice but to use a military treatment facility.
Comments: In short: though I really like my surgeon and a couple of the other resident surgeons that would come by daily to check on me, the nursing staff was horrible and if I ever have to have surgery again I would rather pay out of pocket than to have it covered by insurance at a military hospital. I just hope that they are not all as bad as Eisenhower.

Comments: Excellent doctors. Most of the nurses were also excellent. (There's always a few.)I had to have a CT scan the day after surgery and the technicians were awful. They were very rude and screwed up my IV. My hand swelled 3 times it's normal size when they ran whatever fluid they needed to run into me. It was terrible.

Competitors: The staff is professional and caring. I was able to get appointments in a timely manner. Follow up care is first rate.
Comments: I am pleased overall with the quality of care I received from DDEAMC. We have an open Gastric Bypass Support Group and welcome anyone in the area to come to our meetings which fall on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the surgical clinic.

How Selected: This is the hospital that the Army sends you to on the East coast for this kind of surgery.
Competitors: I don't know about any of the other local hospitals
Comments: The hospital was good just understaffed as the army has been deploing so many of the soldiers. I'm sure that if not for all of the deployments my hospital experience would have been excellent.

Comments: I was really treated very very well during my stay at the hospital. I was treated with great respect. I would reccommend any military spouse in the Fort Gordon area to use this hospital.
