I don't believe anyone wants to go the hospital. But when I have too, this is the hospital I perfer over all others. |

This is just a very caring and loving hospital. I've been here for other surgeries and it's always been top notch care. |

| It was where the surgeon went. He was "supposedly" in-network, but not for this surgery. The hospital was in network. |

SSDD---same stuff, different day.
You take your life in your hands when you go into a hospital and it serves you well to get out as fast as you can. I did not have a fellow nurse do private duty this time (which all nurses try to do because they know the care stinks). I would HIGHLY recommend it. They barely wanted to bath me. I was half washed one day post-op standing up at the sink in the bathroom.
I thought I was going to pass out. The second day they washed me even less.
The morning of discharge, I showered myself, got all those nasty bandages off, re-bandaged myself, dressed myself, and packaged all my stuff up for the volunteer. EXHAUSTING !!! |
| Comments: |
I had to stay after a surgeon, a resident, and then the nursing staff to get my foley dc'd that first night. I did get out of bed several times the first night to pee. They NEVER turned me. I had to ask for the incentive spirometry to keep my lungs open. They NEVER listened to my lungs, even though I have a history of asthma. I snuck my inhalers in and was able to use the second day to keep my airways clear. The night shift was the worst, I never slept, I had to un-hook myself from NGT and suction, 2 IV pumps, and my anti-embolism boots everytime I wanted to walk to the bathroom to pee. |

| My surgeon works there, but it is also a magnet hospital. The nursing care is exceptional. |
| Competitors: |
No comparison. I have heard horror stories about staff shortages, mistakes, neglect, etc.

| Comments: |
There are signs in the lobby, "We want to exceed your expectations", and they do, at every turn. They are undergoing a lot of construction right now so the parking situation is not great, but that would be my only real complaint. I would highly recommend EH! |

I would have to say that I have been to better hospitals in the Central NJ area.I am a nurse so I have also worked at alot of hospitals. |
| Comments: |
At the time of my surgery, the hospital was going through a radical change. They were understaffed and I felt alot of tension in the air.I felt I was treated poorly by the ICU staff. Once I got transferred to a regular floor, things got better and I was treated better by the staff.I have found out that my surgeon, who is wonderful, have move their practice across the street from the hospital and it is now called Bergen Bariatrics. |

| My doctor was the cheif of surgery and the hospital was among the preferred providers although my doctor has since moved to another hospital. |

It was not terribly modern in the sense of decor as it has not undergone any type of renovation aesthetically, but the care was excellent. That was my priority so I didn't mind the bland surroundings. |
| Comments: |
The staff was caring and competent, the parking situation was inadequate, but not terribly costly & the technology was definitely top notch. |

If I had to choose I would pick HUMC however the hospital seems to have a pretty good rating. |
| Comments: |
My only concerns with this hospital is that I had two pre-op testing done so far and the hospital seems to keep miss placing my results. That worries me some. |
