How Selected: This hospital has the BSE qualifications. It is also the only hospital in our town and since I also work there I had complete confidence in the staff. I knew that I'd be well taken care of
Competitors: In my opinion, it's the best in the northstate area.
Comments: I had a private room, which is always nice to have, and the best staff taking care of me. It is also a very family/visitor friendly facility and that is very important to me. Overall, a great experience.

Comments: It's improving in some ways... it all depends on what you're there for. They have terrible employee policies (staffing ratios, etc.). They need to realize those employees are what they're all about.

How Selected: The Dr. Ludwig only works through this hospital.
Competitors: The service at Enloe was definitely better than what I've seen at Oroville. I have only been at Feather River when my sons were born but my stay at Enloe was about the same.
Comments: I had a private room, so that was nice. The nurses were attentive and polite; however it took a while for them to answer when I pushed the call button. I ended up having a problem with my IV and screaming like I was in labor when a nurse put my pain medication in too fast. But overall, my stay was good.

How Selected: My mother and family told me that Enloe Hospital was the best
Competitors: I have been to UC Davis and Enloe hospital and while I was in Enloe I felt safe comfortable, when at UC Davis the nurses didn't give me the attention that I needed. When I couldn't sleep I had nurse Teresa Robertson sit with me and keep me company when at UC Davis the nurse just turnred the tv on and left.
Comments: I think Enloe hospital is such a great hospital. Everyone is very hard working and do evrything that they could to make sure that I was comfortable.

Competitors: Enloe was/is excellent. I have been in 3 other hospital for childbirth and in/out surgeries on my hands and knees. Enloe personnel were all friendly, professional, and attentive. Very knowledgable about their jobs.
Comments: I can't say enough good things about this hospital. All of the personnel from the custodial, food service, office, and of course the nursing staff were all so supportive. My WLS stay was very comfortable and I felt in good hands....

Comments: Enloe has always been my hospital of choice. I have delivered three babies there and have been there on other occasions since childhood. It was my obvious choice of hospital for this surgery because I truly feel they take there patients wants and needs to heart. Thank you for making me feel very comfortable and safe in your care.

How Selected: I selected the doctor. The hospital came with him. It's also the only local one.
Comments: The nursing staff was excellent. I apprciated that they paired me up with a nurse in surgery who has had the same surgery. Also, one of my floor nurses was selected for her having the surgery. It is great that all the floor nurses are invited (and paid) to attend the Bariatric seminars provided by my surgeon. How Selected: This is the hospital where Dr. Ludwig practices.
Competitors: This is a centrally located rural hospital. There are several in surrounding areas, but they are further then is acceptable for me and my husband.
Comments: Except for a minor problem, the nursing care was outstanding; Dr. Ludwig's staff works well with the hospital staff, and as an RN I found nearly everyone involved very professional. Enloe also has an excellent reputation for infection control issues, and as a former IC RN this was extremely important to me that Enloe has been recognized for this.

Competitors: Much better than FRH (Feather River Hospital).
Comments: Overall experience was great! Great nurses, prompt care, understanding and compasionate. Rooms could use a little updating but nothing major (ripped wallpaper) They are really making an effort to expand thier WLS program and it shows. I would definatley recommend this hospital to anyone... My stay was pleasant.

How Selected: Local hospital, surgeon used for years.
Competitors: The only "local" hospital I have ever had surgery is Mercy in Sacramento, CA. It was fabulous with nursing care, billing and all other accomodations.
Comments: Enloe had a nurse in ICU who was not capable of doing her job. Even in my drugged stupor I was aware she did not know what she was doing. My husband recognized she was incompetent as well. I had to ask for nursing superiors for assistance. My husband is definitely not a difficult person to deal with and I do not consider myself a difficult person to deal with. It was not good. I had to talk for myself as hospital staff tend not to give patients the respect of knowledge. Interestingly enough, Enloe is known for sending a Hospital Review after you get home. I never received anything of the sort. Would I recommend Enloe, it is ok but make sure you always have a friend or family member who can watch and listen in order to speak on your behalf.

Comments: The stay in the ICU was the best I thought. I had a nurse with me all of the time watching over me. One I was taken to a regular surgical room it wasn't very comfortable. The machines kept beep every few minutes and it seems like it took forever for someone to come and turn it off. Once I could get up and walk around I wasn't in my room much.

Comments: THEY SAID THEY WERE SHORT OF NURSES DUE TO ILLNESS. THIS IS THE REASON IT TOOK 3 HRS TO ATTEND TO A BADLY INFILTRATED IV WHICH OCCURRED MORE THEN ONCE. THE NURSES I DID HAVE WERE VERY BUSY. LOTS OF LOUD LAUGHING AND CONVERSATION DAY AND NIGHT AT THE NURSES STATION. THE RN'S SEEM TO SHOW MORE CONCERN FOR THE PT CARE. SURGERY TEAM, MY DR AND MY ANESTIEGIOLOGIST WERE THE BEST. Comments: Considering that it is the only option locally, you couldn't ask for more. They could act like "we don't care, we don't have too" but they didn't and I greatly appreciated it! I was extrememly lucky to be able to have my surgery done at such a quality facility as Enloe, with quality people to take care of me.
