How Selected: Since I was cash-pay I had to choose from Fairway or Slidell.
Competitors: I work in an O.R. at a local hospital in New Orleans. Fairway was excellent! The staff was wonderful. I'd rate them a 9 out of 10.
Comments: The only complaint I'd have is that there wasn't much pre-op and post-op privacy. This is an out-patient facility so the patients are recovered and then released as soon as possible. This is not a reflection on the staff. They were incredible! I told my husband on the drive home that I wanted to fill out an application to work there!

How Selected: It was the hospital that Dr. French and I talked about that was the least expensive for the cash payment surgery.
Competitors: It is extremely well equipped, very pretty, and a VERY clean facility. The hospital was refurbished and it is very pretty and well worth the placement in that hospital for surgery and recovery. The nurses are awesome and very competent when it comes to bariatric patients.

How Selected: I had to go to Fairway Medical as this was part of the "cash pay" pilot pricing program my Surgeons office offered. Eventhough I had to drive farther from home, I am glad my Surgeon choose such a nice hospital with great staff.
Competitors: It was a professionally staffed as any other hospital I've been in and a lot nicer/prettier/newer than others I've been in.
Comments: Great Nurses & Staff!!

How Selected: My doctor uses this hospital for 1-3 day surgeries.
Competitors: I didn't even know this hospital was there. I think this hospital gives you more personal attention than the other hospitals do.
Comments: I arrived there at around 10:30. I waited about 10 minutes and then they took me right in. They prepped me for surgery, Then they let my family in to see me. My husband got to stay with me the whole time.About 11:15 they gave me a "Don't care shot" and then I woke up in recovery. They were very attentive to my needs and someone was always by my side. I felt really safe. The staff was amazing. I even got to go home the same day!!!!

How Selected: They had a piolet program that offered a good cash price for the lap band
Comments: The hospital was actually a same day surgery center so privacy was at a minimum - sfter surgery I could hear other patients in pain and it was not conducive to restfulness.
