| Because this hospital was recognized for it's Baratic Weight loss program and the doctors that service this hospital are wonderful. |

| Hickory Surgical was a center of excellence according to my insurance (BC/BS NC). That is a high regard! Also, my Mom had lap-band surgery there a year before I had my rny surgery. I saw her experience and it was very positive. |

Oh Gosh. This hospital far exceeds the local hospitals that I know of. They made the scariness of such a serious surgery, not so scary. Everyone there helped me feel more reassured. |

If you had a fantasy of how a hospital would be through your entire process from beginning to end, this hospital would be how it is! All of the staff was so friendly and wonderful through my entire process.
They couldn't have been any better.

I have been at Presby in Huntersville and they were top notch! |

After the first night they were not that good... the IV would buzz for a long time, no one wanted to unhook me to go to the B/R and it was not a cheery room It was dark and drab I could not see outside! The nurses station was far away and I appeared to be the forgotten patient. Not A Center of Excellence in my book. My surgeon was wonderful as was his staff!! I had to wait for everything one x-rayI had, I waited 1 hour in the Radiology dept slumped over in my wheelchair til finally a tech ask me if I would like to lie down. On discharge to go home they forgot about me and I waited 2 hours for transport. I went to the nurses station and they were suprised they thought I had left hours ago. I just walked myself down to the valet parking where my sister had been waiting over an hour in her hot car: they told her to sit still they were getting me! Duh?? It seems better communication is in order!! |

| This just happened to be the hospital the Dr. Cox does his surgery at. I really got lucky. Everyone was so nice and helpful. |

Frye and Randolph Hospital both are outstanding in my book and if not for the staff and doctors at both hospitals I wouldn't be alive and healthier today. They are both excellent facilities. |

| My psychiatrist had mentioned it when I first brought up weight loss surgery, then I checked the Hickory Surgical Clinic website and from there went to the WLS clinic at Frye. After hearing information about their program I chose it as the best in the area. |

In my case, even though I have used another hospital previously, it was obvious that they are very coordinated on their WLS program, even though my surgeon works at both hospitals for the surgery. |

This is the best one that I have actually been in. I hate hospitals and don't go in unless I absolutely have to. This was a good experience and I wouldn't have a problem going back! |

The only thing about it was that the nurses woke me up a lot at night and the people that have to take your blood were annoying, but I know they were only doing their jobs!! Since I hate anything to do with hospitals anyway I guess that would seem pretty mild compared to what others have to say about hospital stays! Everyone was extremely helpful and very very nice. The nutritionist came by to see me twice which was unexpected by me and a nice surprise. My surgeon also came by several times and I thought that was nice too. |

I can't express how caring and responsive everyone was.The room was so accomdating to me and my husband.We felt welcome and not a burden or just another patient but we were treated with kindness , acommodating and well mannered nurses
from the operating room through x-rays

| Dr. Monty Cos & Leland Cook are the Bariatric surgeons at this facility.-This was a great Staff and the acomodations were superb and very GENUINE-the only thing is the parking and finding the hospital itself is a nightmare. They need to have one parking floor donated to the bariatric wing pts & family. It can get confusing!!And the one way streets are not the best in the world. |

The surgical floor is excellent, this was the best care that I have ever received during a hospitalization. The staff was competent, caring, and there was equipment always available and in the room for bariatric patients. |

My greatest disappointment was with the nursing staff. They were nice and courteous but I found them to be lacking. For example, the first night I was getting up to urinate about every hour. The measuring tool in the commode filled up after about 5 hours and was then running over. That gives me a good indication that no one was checking on me during that time to see what my needs were. Also, I didn't know that I needed to ask for pain meds since apparently I had been told to ask when I was still groggy and had just been settled | |
